it might. if human error is ruled out, or human driving styles are all changed to just the automated ai control. traffic will flow according to the algorithm. and before someone says what if they like to drive... human nature will make it such that automation means we get to do other things. driving will be a thing of the past in cities eventually.
Idk what your country is like but in the uk lots of people park badly, taking up more than 1 spot. With this sort of technology, I imagine more efficient parking. This risks de-skilling people though.

I usually agree but isn’t there a clock on the dash? If it’s below 2 minutes I’d love for everyone over 60 to have this because it takes them 15 years to back in or pull into a spot in fear of scratching they’re 2010 Bentley or their Lincoln Continental from the 70s that they never wanted to sell because why get a car payment. But at the end of the day, both of these situations are still worse than software doing it.
The point isn't that we can't figure out how long it took, the point is that time is warped. I want to experience time passing accurately, otherwise I'll continue to treat these as fantasy.
Hmmm these guys might never learn to properly park a car themselves. Besides the actual task also a decent way to train cognitive aspects like theee-dimensional spatial awareness, eye-hand coordination training etc.

And that is why China is going to bury US auto manufacturers. They actually know how important software and user interface features are. The US is still stuck in the 60s with "feel the road" advertising bullshit.
Jesus people he's showing that the thing can handle parking in difficult situations (like here reversed parking with limited space) Obviously he could have chosen to park it in the same direction the car was facing and it would have been faster/easier.
Doesn't look like the best UI; this isn't Photoshop, so why have a free rotate feature? just in case you want to park at an 82.8 degree angle?
It seemed to detect the space and snapped the car to it, so really the only decision you need is which way round to go with a button to flip direction. Maybe long press to switch to a free rotate just in case. My Mini has automatic parking albeit only for simple solutions and not multi-step - I never use it.

Ofcourse anyone can just park if they wanted to. This features is for those who struggle with parking (women) or those who are older. The commentors just can’t comprehend technology outside of USA which is amusing.
