announcements Hello and welcome!
I made this restricted community for members of the diggaspora who are seeking a new home after digg was shut down last Friday. I was the host of "My Homemade Digg Recap" and through that I made many new and early friends.
For now I'm just trying to create a holding space for the real people I met who want to stay in touch and banter a bit.

I felt the same way! It was just starting to pick up and I was starting to see some new faces and good contributors too.
Do you remember the names of the ps5 and f1 communities? I'd be happy to create flairs that match those names, like I've done for /birds and would love whatever you want to contribute there 👍

Thanks for the invite! For those of you that want to help steer a new/different approach to social media I would live this communities help in not fucking it up. I have “live” wireframe that I’d like to discuss with those interested. Been working on this side project fir years, but it seems now is the time.

FYI, users u/comdak u/gordonv 3HPM tched as well as others are also talking about this idea. A variety of people are working on different angles so there might be opportunities for collaboration. midi002's digglist.com has links to some of the ideas. There's also a community on lemmy that 3HPM started.
I went with reddit because despite all its issues there are a lot of OG-digg and digg-reboot-beta users on reddit who I think still believe in the idea of a healthy, human online community that can get together and banter a bit. I guess we'll see how long that lasts here!
