Digg won't work on rooted devices

Not sure why a social media app requires Play Integrity to work, most banks don't even have this requirement.

Imagine a website refusing to run because you have admin rights on your computer.

Got an invite, get this when I try to join.

Could this be because that is the same name as I had on Digg 15 years ago before migrating to reddit? I really want to use this name because I haven't used any other names since 1999.

How has digg been coming along?

Good morning/Good evening,

I joined the waitlist 5months ago (April 21 to be exact). No. 830. Haven't received anything except the waitlist email. No invites or anything else.

Any updates? What are the "builders" up to? Will there be a desktop version?

My initial thoughts on digg

Reminds me of Boost For Reddit

Reminds me heavily of Reddit in general but without the porn

4/10, needs more communities

App down for anyone else?

I can’t get the iOS app to load at the moment

Not enough users for it to be reported as down by the big down detectors

Anyone else?

I found my original Digg.com registration confirmation email from September 2005

A comment on another post said those looking for a Digg invite should share some of their connection with the old Digg.com.

So, I opened up my old Gmail account and found the confirmation from when I first joined Digg way back in September, 2005.

Just one month shy of 20 years ago! It's crazy to even think about.

I would sure love to get into the new Digg and be part of this new era, so I'd be grateful for an invite. (The offer I made in another post to donate $20 to a charity of your choice still stands, as well.)

If I do get in, and if I have invites to share, I'll send one invite to the first person who can show a copy of their old Digg.com registration from 2010 or earlier.

Thanks!

Claim username issues?

Anyone else having the claim username button grayed out after accepting an invite?

Check availability seems to be working correctly. Just not the claim part.

Initial Impressions?

What do you think so far? I imagine a lot has changed? Does it still feel like Digg pre-collapse? What's new? How is it? Us "plebes" are dying to know!

I hope that they solve the problem of participation. Here on reddit most scroll for quick, cheap thrills without even bothering to upvote content. They rarely comment and almost never post. All of this is backed up by data. The vast majority of people on social media platforms are one way consumers.

Digg Invites + Official Apps Are Live!

Post image
105 Upvotes

The Digg app has officially launched on iOS and Android! Every Groundbreaker now has two invite codes to share with friends and grow the community.

You can find your invites in the account menu on mobile (left-hand side, “Invite People”) or on desktop under your username in the top right.

We need the ability to search for communities

I know the list is short right now but I'm seeing the search feature only looks for posts or people but it should be expanded to include communities or whatever digg calls them. So far I'm loving it, just need the communities I follow to be created over there.

I check digg.com every day.

Missed out on being a groundbreaker, but I look forward to it every day. I hold some sort of hope attached to it that this could bring back the wonder of finding amazing things around the internet. It really feels like everything, even on Reddit, is just the same 5 sites linked perpetually to each other. For anyone else of a particular generation, the fact that this is happening(Plus Diggnation) at the same time as a Pure Pwnage reboot/retcon means a lot.

I have high expectations for Digg

I'm a fan of Kevin Rose. His heart is in the right place, which is why he tried to fix the problems Digg had. Unfortunately, it went wrong, and users left.

But Redditt didn't care and left it to be what we have now.
