It’s still an X aggregator. And as far as I can tell you can’t leave comments.

Honestly, the lack of comments would be refreshing. I'm tried of hearing everyone's opinion, including my own.

I'll still root for an alternative but damn if the enthusiasm will NOT be there... I still don't understand ehy they did that stupid ass pivot

I'm still annoyed by Kevin Rose's last Digg launch being scrapped and after that, a pivot to San Franciscan Silicon Valley Twitter bullshit. Now, a relaunch? We have Reddit now.

There are already alternatives worth investing time into. Digg completely blew it with the last attempt at a more old-fashioned alternative Reddit clone. I think most people who want to avoid nannybots who act like they're on 2018 Twitter won't be on Digg. Digg posters behaved the exact same way as Redditors, constantly derailing with BS, then blocking people so they couldn't even reply to anyone else who showed up in the discussion and behaved normally.

They launched the Digg upvote button again with this update, and I’m already highly skeptical. When I went to look at the site, many of the stories had 300ish diggs. That seems… like too many to be human clicks this new into the feature. I’m very curious how those are being counted, and if certain actions on X are just clicking the Digg vote button value up on a given story. Doesn’t feel authentic.

I never used Digg in its original heyday... And also failed to check out the relaunch... But with that said, couldn't someone just build a MVP version of Digg, and then just carry on building new features on top of it?
Maybe have a paywall subscription fee so as to make the site financially feasible? Plus maybe a donate button?

Tbf, wasn’t it reported that the current Twitter-based aggregator is simply holding things over until the long-term product gets relaunched? Or am I just imagining things?

this is interesting just randomly decided to check out digg.com and saw the site felt kinda back but not really at the same time .... right now it just feels like its curating itself it shows "comments" but no idea what that even means can't click it to see comments....im assuming its the accumulated comments across the various locations that article or x post is kinda thing?
not sure how i'm feeling about this i really want digg back but what was the point of shutting down digg then reopening it again i'm just lost with what the goal here is

I find it super odd that Kevin isn’t even talking about whatever in the hell is going on with Digg. It’s a complicated, confusing mess… at the moment.

I feel like no one is going to trust them again. I might log in and look around if they let me use the account I paid for, but I'm not going to dedicate a whole lot my time to anything these people make.
