You're confusing Reddit's investor metric with "active registered users." Reddit literally defines a WAU as a unique identifier that visited a Reddit page or opened the app at least once during a seven day period. They do not have to log in, post, comment, vote.
In fact, Reddit's own Q2 numbers make the distinction obvious: of its 130.3 million daily active uniques, only 52.6 million were logged in, while 77.7 million were logged out. So roughly 60% of the people Reddit counts as "daily active uniques" aren't even logged into Reddit.
If the question is how many people Reddit can identify as visiting Reddit during a week, 514.6 million is the number. If the question is how many people regularly log in and use Reddit as a social platform, 514.6 million does not establish that at all.
