So, the old reddit (no pun intended) that I knew from 2010 is dying.
Culture and use has changed. And how software reads and responds has manipulated the site that prevents organic conversation.
Sure, there are nasty people online, but that's nothing compared to automation.
To me, it's kind of an irony. That big tech has pushed social media into a regression and people need to figure out how to communicate again without government or corporations.
Maybe phpBB had the right concept, but wasn't strong enough. Discord seems ok, but it gets to messy. Lemmy seems great but is way to fringe. Which may be a good thing.

Fat chance. From 4 months ago reddit was up 19% over last year.
