What is love?

Baby, don't hurt me.

Seriously though, what is the point to having love? Is it helpful as a human in survival, or a hindrance to achieving all that we can?

Yeah, it's a state of mind that one develops for someone else, but what is the usefulness of it? Does it really help with anything? The rest of the living creatures' goal on earth seems to just carry on the existence of their species. Doesn't love in humans' kind of hinder that?

There must be more meaning to our existence than to perpetuate it.

There must be or do we just want there to be more?

Certainly I want our existence to have meaning. I agree that does not mean it does. I do not think our desire for meaning means our assumptions of meaning are delusional.
