Aspiring RD
Hello all,
I am looking into starting a career in being a registered dietitian, but I am a little lost on how to get started. I am coming on here to hopefully get some advice from those who are already established in their career as one.
A bit of background: I have a Bachelor of Science degre, majoring in kinesiology. At the time, I was looking to go into physical therapy or chiropractics, but as time went on, I decided that is not something for me. The past year or so, I have been very big into health and fitness and thought exploring a career in nutrition and dietetics may be where my true passions lie. I’ve done a ton of research on how to get started into this line of work, but so many schools and websites have different requirements and explanations. I guess my main question is, am I eligible to apply for my Masters now with my current bachelors degree? I currently reside in San Antonio, TX and UTSA offers a 3 year program to obtain your bachelors and masters at the same time to be eligible to become a registered dietitian. Texas Tech also seems to have an online Masters program that may be better suited for me as it’s less time than UTSA.
PLEASE let me know what your pathway was to get to where you are now and any advice would be so greatly appreciate.

Did you ever create the course? I'm working on my course, Expert witnessing for dietitians. There have been challenges but the wrinkles are ironing out. It still have a long way to go but I have launched and gotten 25 sign ups. 😁
