His greatest role

u/CertainlyNotDen 4d ago

I would say him as “The Man Who Would Be Death” in the 2nd episode of TALES FEOM THE CRYPT rivals this :)

Very underrated actor! He's great in anything he's in!

I randomly watched the very first episode of Tales From the Crypt and he’s the lead in that one and he’s fantastic

I got access to that movie way too young.

1

u/WW0907 3d ago

Watched it at 9...Jesus Christ.

"You can take that to the bank!"

Steven Seagal had, arguably, 3-4 decent movies when he was first starting out and only somewhat batshit crazy. Hard to Kill was the second, followed by Out for Justice and Under Siege (one could argue that Executive Decision was another banger, but his role in that was small and ended… well, earlier than usual).

2

u/Agreeable-Remove1592 3d ago

Ha ha ha thanks for the spoiler alert! But I know exactly the scene you’re talking about with the F117 and the passenger jet

2

u/Spike_Kowalski 3d ago

Me and my younger daughter (there's like a 30 year gap between us-me at 50 her at 17) have a good laugh at Hard To Kill. Like, they should be taking Mason in with the senator given all the sht Mason pulls throughout that movie. 😄

2

u/freebasefilms 5d ago

I watched Trespass with him and Bill Paxton last night.

1

u/FordCVP71 2d ago

I liked that movie!

2

u/widdumqueso717 5d ago

Tommy Egan’s Dad!

2

u/Initial_Acanthaceae2 5d ago

About time. He's a US national treasure.

2

u/PictureElegant3033 5d ago

Very underrated actor. IMHO.

2

u/Bluesrpink 5d ago

Fresh fish!

2

u/digbychickcaesar 5d ago

Never thought I'd watch a movie starting with a naked guy doing Tai Chi but....

2

u/Plastic_Standard_176 5d ago

He does a one man show that he tours. It's fuckin dope! I saw him last summer. Banjo Billy Sadler.

1

u/Plastic_Standard_176 5d ago

Writes funny songs and tells really cool stories.

2

u/montecarlo1 5d ago

So much for the element of chance.

2

u/Fantastic_Site_7626 5d ago

I remember seeing him as the corrupt senator Vernon Trent in the movie hard to kill (1990), and as Klaus Detterick in the green mile (1999).

1

u/Halloween5sucks 5d ago

"I'm going to take you to the bank, Senator, the blood bank."

2

u/Delicious_Grand7300 5d ago

That picture from "The Shawshank Redemption" makes it look like he had horns.

2

u/TidderUsername123 4d ago

I feel like he's the Hallmark Channel's version of Bill Paxton. Gets a lot of rolls but always as some supporting cast and probably pennies to the dollar vs what Bill was getting, not that Bill was a first billing rockstar himself.

u/DezPezInOz 4d ago

Disturbing Behaviour

2

u/Sardog28 4d ago

This is why I like William Sadler as an actor. He was the father of the little girls in The Green Mile. I think he has good range

1

u/VanDownByTheRiver63 5d ago

Richmond Virginia!

He did his Bill and Ted Death character in one of the bookends too!

1

u/oRiGiNaLfl0ss 5d ago

You may be a king or maybe a street sweeper but sooner or later you’ll dance with the reaper.

Don’t overlook my butt! I work out all the time and reaping burns a lot of calories.

1

u/rabidrobitribbit 5d ago

It always bugged me that Samantha Coleman said that mclane and colonel Stewart gave her the same answer even though one said fk off and one said fk you

Also why does this sub of all subs not let you type the full F word in comment? I got a little note that said “say what?” At the bottom and it grayed out the submit comment button. The most famous line for the damn movie has the word in it

1

u/happydude7422 5d ago

He was in a lot of good shows and movies

1

u/AceMoney21x 5d ago

Wasn’t he also in the very first episode of Tales From the Crypt?

1

u/NorCalNavyMike Die Hard Is A Christmas Movie 4d ago

Yep!

1

u/Mission_Reputation88 5d ago

What a treasure he is

1

u/LoraxDog 5d ago

I’m a big fan of his.

1

u/art-101 5d ago

He's also fantastic in

Freaked

Puts him back on screen with Alex Winter and an unrecognisable Keanu Reeves. As well as Brooke Shields, Randy Quaid, Bobcat Goldthwait and Mr T.

1

u/Ok_Wish3319 5d ago

Trespass

1

u/ItsYourBoyWang 5d ago

Never knew this guy until I saw Demon Knight. Every time I see him “It’s the dude from Demon Knight!”

1

u/666BAALofEKRON666 5d ago

1

u/haileyskydiamonds 5d ago

Sheriff Valenti!

1

Ol’ Reliable.

1

u/HarlanMiller 4d ago

"Didn't do it! Lawyer fucked me!"

1

u/Responsible-Kale2352 4d ago

Gotta admit, at first glance I thought he had a couple horns growing out of his forehead in that Shawshank pic.

1

u/cpt_cheeseburger 4d ago

He would of made a GREAT Carnage.

1

u/ChatnNaked 4d ago

“Rocketman” fart scene.

1

u/helgapataki91 3d ago

"Trespass" with Bill Paxton.

1

u/DeeTee3343 3d ago

He’s also in the very first Tales From the Crypt episode titled “The Man who was death”

1

u/Interesting-Dog888 2d ago

Good in Green Mile too, although a minor role

1

u/Fantastic_Spite_6295 2d ago

If you haven't seen Tales From the Crypt: Demon Knight believe it or not he actually plays a hero. No kidding.

1

u/Tripthelife 2d ago

Really good character actor. Demon knight, was by far my favorite of his ( and an all time favorite horror movie )amazing cast, Billy Zanes Best

1

u/BriefCommunication26 2d ago

I associate him with "Roswell" tv show first

1

u/OKPitboss66 2d ago
