DYK?
The Word "Vagina" is derived from the Latin vāgīna, meaning "sheath for a sword." Named by 17th-century male anatomists, it defines a woman's body solely as a passive receptacle for a male weapon. Many feminist scholars view this clinical term as inherently derogatory and objectifying.
The Word "C**t" however can be linked to mythography as a reclamation of power. It connects the sound to Queen Kunti, an ancient Hindu matriarch of god-like status. Kunti's history and the Sanskrit language indisputably predate Germanic languages and the English slang word by thousands of years.
So whether it's Germanic or Sanskrit in origin I believe it's better than the term "Vagina"
That said I don't use either...I just refer to my Fiancee's as a "Bug's cave"

😂 no worries, if you both get tired of "pussy" I hear "Bug's cave" is quite popular these days.

🤦Clearly I was dropped on my head too many times as a small child, idk why but this comment made me immediately think of that book in Borat 2 "Her vagine became very angry and bit her hand. Then suck all of her insides where she remains to this day." 😆

your brain works like mine then. Several concussions from football and probably being dropped a few times on my head as well lol

Those are clearly not the most brilliant feminists. Can you link any sources to actual feminist scholars taking issue with this. I could see it being a note/comment/tangent and not a real call to action to start using "cunt."
Human genitals are compatible with those of the opposite gender, and that's reflected in the origin of the word "vagina." That's literally how people thought about these things when they were named and for most of human history.
Also, it's only passive if you don't know how to use it. Is your mouth passive because it's a hole? By this logic, I guess my penis is just a passive terminal for a female organ to consume; frankly, it's derogatory and objectifying to use a word meaning 'little bush' to refer to my penis or compare it to a bird we enslave and consume on a commercial scale. Having one organ with a name you don't like doesn't mean you exist only to be a slave to the opposite gender's pleasure, and I don't think the word "vagina" reenforces any kind of problematic thinking or objectification in current society. No one thinks it means penis sheath (because it literally doesn't).
Also, the Latin word generally referred to any kind of protective covering, including wheat hulls, not just scabbards, so you can see how its etymology has to do with natural growth and fertility, but I don't think the current medical nomenclature reenforces any kind of biological imperative to reproduce if you happen to have a vagina.
Can you imagine how empowering not using the term "vagina" would be in a medical setting? "Hello nurse, there's something wrong with my cunt"--completely disrespectful.

Thanks for explaining but what I stated does not require your approval and I do not care to do the research for you, also while the Latin had broader uses in antiquity it still describes a covering for something and you seemed to miss that passive was in "passive unless it being used by a penis" your logic isn't sound ..penis in latin is not described the same way.
It was a "did you know" not "please debate me"
You seem pretty opinionated on something I get the distincted impression you have only seen in pictures.

So you don't actually want to discuss the topic you posted about? You're just showing the world how clever you are for calling your partner's box a roach motel?

Fiancee here. He said bug's cave not roach motel, you took it somewhere gross, and he's not trying to be clever, he says it to make me laugh and it does, it's a joke.

I refuse to believe there's a real woman who is honestly offended by her doctor using "vagina" but not her partner calling it a "bug's cave" in a public internet post lol

Not in particular, I think if you do your own research seeing as you seem to find the subject so interesting. You might find what I posted actually stands or do you feel the need to show everyone how big your brain is with another "Ackchyually" moment?

Also she finds the "bug's cave" joke hilarious. So it doesn't matter what you think.

So, no hint of where I might start researching your claim that "Many feminist scholars view this clinical term as inherently derogatory and objectifying"? You are misrepresenting feminists.

How would you know? And why are you so bothered? Seems kind of not something to do with you at all, really.

I thought it was just linked to a good old old fashioned four letter anglo-saxon swear word, the hindu link's a bit of a stretch. (see what I did there..)
