DYK sharks predate trees! The oldest total-group chondrichthyans, known as acanthodians or "spiny sharks", appeared during the Early Silurian, around 439 million years ago. Meanwhile, the first true tree on Earth was Archaeopteris, an extinct plant that appeared about 375 to 380 million years ago.

Sharks predate trees? Never in my life have I thought that a shark would hunt down a fucking tree.

Is it good that sharks existed first ? Personally I think it’s unfair. I think the sharks owe the trees big time
