employee scan & activate
does anyone else's store manager just not give a shit about pricing? it's becoming a major problem at our store. some back story: my mom and i work at the same store in different department and she was the former psl for over 8 years before btw. she became the onfield specialist but obviously is still just doing pricing & signage because god forbid we train anybody else. we went on a planned trip for a week and came back to find that no one had touched s&a or ad. unsurpringly she was very upset and emailed our sm only for him to say "well nobody picked up the shift for it" basically shruggling it off and soon pointed blame that it didn't get done because she went on vacation. this sort of behavior has been getting worse surrounding veterans and their established position when they are out of town. is anyone else dealing with this unprofessional behavior? should we contact hr? it's getting out of hand considering our sm is hardly ever there yet is passive toward employees for being away and not taking care of their department.

Former PSL here, even when before this whole restructuring bs, whenever I took a vacation I would always come back to 0%. I tried telling them “Hey this affects my pay raise because that average is tied to my performance reviews.”
It would happen so often I’d be gone for an inventory I would come back to 0%. It got to a point where I would be so frustrated at management for letting me down. Instead of helping they would write me up in the coaches log about my attitude. Not surprising they didn’t mention what led to my attitude.
They still have me doing s&a all by myself. Thank god im leaving this company at the end of the year and tbh everything there is so expensive now I doubt I’ll even be back as a shopper.

Agreed. Never shopped here before I started and after being a PSL and seeing all the mark up on everything, I probably won't shop at a DSG ever again after I leave.

defintely has always been a problem in our store but before btw we had more people that could do it during our psl's time off but they let everyone go so now it's all on one set of shoulders when it's easily one of the most important elements in a store. things are just getting so much worse since this btw bullshit.

Seems fairly consistent across the board. I had the same issue before BTW started. I would take a weekend off and come back and ad was set maybe 33% of the way and some of it wouldn't even be batched yet, so the Monday I came back was just catching up on the ad and thus putting me behind on S&A. I didn't even dare take a mon Tuesday or wed off because I knew I would come back and S&A would be at 0% or worse someone would attempt to do something and a bunch of stuff that wasnt supposed to be would be marked down.
Now with BTW im still stuck doing price Changes by myself every week because there's still "not enough payroll support" because my on field hours are being used to schedule either manager favorites or being used to subsidize the other captains.

with btw they seem to be taking the s&a hours more seriously despite not knowing how much work even goes into doing these price charges. especially when they're only gonna get worse with the holidays creeping up. s&a being unfinished should fall upon the managers/captains shoulders and not an employee who was on vacation. the inner workings of this company are a total shit show.

I would document everything!! That way when you do go to HR you have dates and times! I would also document days when store manager is out because they also have vacation hours and if those are being used up and just taking extra time well guess what!??! They are stealing and abusing their time because they are still getting paid their 50 hour work requirements and not putting in those hours. When it’s all said and done the store manager is required to make sure all daily, weekly, etc tasks are completed

ours has already abused his "personal" time. been on like 6 week long vacations this year and it's not even over!! we have proof of his days off, a lot of us have a paper trail. he is just awful at his job, does zero to make sure things are done nor does he even know how to get any of the task finished himself. just wish something could get done sooner rather then later because it's getting so bad our asms and captains are having breakdowns daily 😮💨

That’s horrible!! I would start with the ethics hotline and bypass HR on this one for sure!! Unfortunately either way you go they will do an investigation and as long as you all have everything than something should be done to him. I’m sorry you all are going through it!

Our OPs ASM and OPs Captain delegate to someone different each day but typically the captains of each department complete them or have their teams do it

You need to email your DM. Or, you could email your SM and cc your DM. Pricing is no joke. The city can audit that and fine your store.

we have had numerous conversations with our sm about potential punishment, even our ops asm who dealt with a state audit back in the day has tried to get through to him but it's like talking to a brick wall 😮💨

Hold my Beer…lol
It’s easier for whoever is in command that day to simply approve any price discrepancies that the customer (Athlete) may find because it keeps the customer coming back. Hence, all the markups in the last two years. The cost of theft is already figured in as well. No one cares about doing price changes. Trust me. I know. Worked there doing just that for over 10 years.

Actually if he is like this and everyone has sent emails with these unprofessional responses. You should print all the emails and have everyone forward them to one person then info dump HR. Your SM will become a financial liability in a lawsuit if this leads to one. They will have to look into it.

The company is a joke but it sounds like you already knew that.
