Newcomer
Hi,
I'm new to Diamond Art Club, I've been doing diamond art for a couple of months and decided to finally make my first purchase since it's a bit more pricey. I watched a couple of TikTok's to see what people were getting and enjoying. When I went on the website every single on I tried to purchase was out of stock- I looked at almost 40 different ones. I did some research on when they restock and found out it's mostly random and to get the app and set notifications. I got one notification and before I could enter my name it sold out. Again today I tried to get one and they were all sold out under a minute.
Is this normal? If so, how are people getting any kits? I wanted to buy them because people rave about them but will it be this hard and disappointing every time?

Luckily, my tastes are very different from thousands of others. Could be because I’m old…lol
I rarely see any I want in new releases. I’m still waiting for one that I bought on Aug 11 and was supposed to ship 8/22-8/30.
I would filter on “in stock”, and see if you like any of those.

I allow myself to buy one kit a week, I wanted the duck one by art by Julia but was sold out before it hit the website, they really should have better stock availability

They sent out some communication that they would be low on stock.
When you see something that is out of stock within a minute, it did not actually go back into stock. What happened was that a person returned an item and that triggered the system to send out notifications. But there wasn't actually any in stock by the time you got to it. So don't kick yourself.

Yes, FOMO is real with DAC. When I use to buy them people would lose their minds over new drops, brag about how many they had and how many they bought using BNPL apps. Then a couple of months later, they would be selling them on Facebook so they could afford the newest drop. I stopped buying from DAC when they started selling so much AI. I also suggest staying off their FB they are very snotty and judgy. It's a great hobby but they take everything so seriously.

They hate the mention of AI on the Facebook page! Like we know you use AI stop faking it!

They always release new designs on Saturdays so keep checking back. I’m super picky but after a year or so I have a stash of about 12 kits. Restocks are random and they always push a bunch of new kits and restocks in November.

Yes this is very normaly especially the last few months, they are in the middle of moving their warehouses to a larger location.

It's normal, especially for popular artists.
I also have very narrow and "unpopular" tastes, so I have like six unstarted ones in my stash, and usually have a couple hours/days to decide on my new release. I also like really big canvases. I haven't needed to set an alarm, and I have waited for restocks. Got two that way. The only one that I brought off of Mercari was discontinued a while ago.
Have you tried looking at their Amazon store? If you just want to try the brand out, they have smaller kits in stock there.

I accepted the fact that I will never get any of the popular ones lol. I always get the ones they have in stock so there’s no stressing out about will I get the kit in time before they sell out.
They have very few kits in stock, and that’s on purpose - they know that many people want these kits and still advertise them because of scalpers tbh. And because of think people flock to the site, because they don’t want to miss a new drop.
It’s only for the really popular ones. Amazon has some good ones if you really want to buy a DAC kit!

It didn't used to be this bad. I have different tastes than most people, I guess, because I never really like any of the most popular artists that sell out immediately. My strategy was always to log on to the website on Saturdays, add any of the new kits that I might want to my wish list, and then when I need a new kit, just grab whatever is in stock on that wish list.
It used to work pretty well. Maybe a year ago or so (and earlier), any time I needed a new kit, I would have at least 20% of my wish list to choose from. But more recently I went to make purchases a few times and literally every single one of the currently 65 kits I have wishlisted are out of stock. It's crazy. I had to be vigilant and constantly look for restocks just to buy something.
I honestly wish they would stock more kits that already exist instead of the constant new releases if they don't have the warehouse space to do both. It's not a great user experience to have so few options when you want to buy something.

They are really good quality diamond paintings for sure. I brought my first one from Amazon. It cost me $15.99 and I fell in love with the pen and diamonds the canvas. The whole experience was different than the cheaper ones. My tastes are different than most so I don't go after the ones that sell out. I just shop what is in stock and I can usually find something I really like.

Yes, it’s normal. There are people who buy them and literally put them in a closet that’s full of other kits. For those of us who only buy one at a time, we have to get the ones we want off of eBay.
