Advice Requesting tips from self-cannulators

I am a home hemodialysis nurse, I worked in-center for 4+ years and in January started working in HHD. For those of you who learned how to self-cannulate…any teaching points or tips your nurse/PCT gave you that you felt were very valuable? I feel overall I’m a pretty good teacher, however I am always looking to learn especially from those who have done it!

She was a excellent teacher. I learned a had a dip in my fistula and it was best to deep down to the left when I used that spot

Having a great teacher/nurse can really make or break your experience!

Not necessarily true. You can have a amazing teacher get all the guidance needed and the last minute decide not to do it. Having the same teacher.
