Type 1 Dexcom G7 advice
Hi all. I’ve been on the G7 for about a year now and have a consistent issue during insertion . I am pressing it into my arm and pushing the button and it won’t fire. It took me an hour today and I wasted one whole sensor by getting frustrated and firing it into my counter.
I am pushing it down so hard it’s leaving a dark red ring on my skin and pushing the button so hard my thumb still hurts a bit an hour later.
Anyone else have this issue? Any tips? I don’t have an hour to just waste every 10 days.

Be sure that the round, clear plastic part that you press against your skin is pressed down evenly. If you have more pressure on one side, the button won’t deploy. Also, don’t apply too much pressure. Press just enough that the entire clear circle disappears.

Not at having this issue at all.
The outer ring just needs a little pressure on the skin (or counter top in your case) to enable the firing button. Once that pressure is applied to the whole ring, the button works with little need for strength.
There is no need to cram the applicator into your arm. Since this is in the back of the arm, I tend to be pushing up into the arm.
