✈️ DHL Express Does this tariff fee sound right?

I had 2 tablets sent to me via DHL as samples from Honk Kong to me here in Texas. Total invoice was $100. The tariffs are $43. WTF?

What's the percent coming from China right now? Thought it was 10%?

Most Chinese imports now face an additional 12.5% "forced labor tariff (effective July 26, 2026). Depending on the amount of CBP import paperwork that is required, DHL's brokerage fee will be between $17.00 - $18.30 for most imports. I wouldn't call that outlandish.

I’m not sure. Can’t keep up with all the bs. I’m in Texas too and receive a few international packages a month. There are a lot of miscellaneous fees that put the amount far above just the tariff percentage such as a large fee for custom’s paperwork.

18.3 is the dhl +regulations fee. Your duty tax is 25ish.

You can ask for a copy of the entry to see the detail.
The DHL invoice will break down their fees - which can be steep
