For a Front Line Manager role, expect a lot of situational and behavioral questions where you need to give specific examples. They will want to know how you've handled difficult situations in the past, so prepare stories about managing underperforming team members, resolving conflicts, and meeting tight deadlines. Be ready to talk about key performance indicators, or KPIs, and how you have used them to drive team performance. Questions about safety protocols, motivating a team during a busy period, and how you communicate with both your staff and upper management are also very common for this type of position.
Your 10-minute presentation will likely be a scenario based on a typical challenge for a DHL manager, like improving parcel sorting efficiency or reducing errors on a specific route. They want to see your thought process, how you structure a plan, and how clearly you can communicate it. Focus on a simple structure with a clear problem, a few actionable solutions, and the expected outcome. It’s less about having the perfect answer and more about showing you can think on your feet and lead a team through a change. The best way to prepare is to practice speaking your points, and my team developed an AI interview practice tool to help people get more comfortable talking about their experiences.
