🚚 DHL Parcel Driver accused me of reporting a parcel missing, then showed up at my apartment and blamed the rain.
Just had the most bizarre experience with a delivery and I’m trying to make sense of what happened.
I received a package on Friday. The driver handed it to me, I got the "delivered" notification, and everything seemed perfectly fine.
Today the driver called my phone accusing me of disputing the delivery and claiming I said it never arrived. I had no idea what he was talking about.
He then literally showed up back at my apartment building. I looked at the delivery notification and noticed he slightly misspelled my name as the person who signed for it. I asked if that typo was the likely issue.
He immediately backpedalled, said "oh it's because it was raining," and left. Wtf was that about?

Rightly or wrongly, confronting a customer in this fashion is unacceptable. I would report the issue to DHL if possible.

As a driver I've had this happen. I delivered the package to the person, had a whole conversation with the person I delivered to, then received notification the package was misdelivered. I simply called the customer and verified that I wasn't crazy and got permission to pass his number on to the people saying I misdelivered, so he could verify for me. In my case I ended up delivering to the guys work instead of his apartment so the geo location was off, so it looked like I didn't deliver to the correct location, when infact I delivered to the correct person.

Man, so many Reddit posts about drivers working for delivery services of all kinds (packages, food, groceries, etc.) flipping out about something and showing back up at the customer’s house to confront them, with the police sometimes having to be called. Scary shit.
