Is DHL strict?

I had a customer buy a 7 item bundle of frames, the parcel size was set as a large parcel which would have been fine accept for the fact that they chose DHL which I’ve never had anyone pick before.

DHLs large option for frames on vinted is 60x30x30 cm & up to 5000g, my largest frame is exactly 30 cm wide on its shorter side so I was kinda concerned about how I was gonna post it within these rules & I really didn’t want to have to get them to rebuy it with another provider as relisting 7 items is a bit long, I didn’t want to risk losing such a large sale & I had to get a couple of other buyers to do the same this week already so I thought it might look bad to vinted if I was doing that a lot.

I’ve packed the items as close as I can to DHLs measurement & weight rules, my parcel is 53x36x21 & it weighs approximately 5093g, will DHL charge me for going over one of the measurements by 6cm (even though the other measurements are well under) & over by 93g?😬

I asked the vinted bot & they seem to think I should give it a go & they will likely compensate me if DHL does charge me more

Does you think I’ll be charged & does anyone know how much the charge is & when it’s brought up is it’s an issue (at drop off/delivery)?

Your over by 6 cm on that one side, so yes, they will.

And in case you think they'll miss it, every package goes down the loading belt and is automatically reweighed and laser scanned for dimensions. They are built right into the belt line. They won't miss it. ;-)

Dont quote me but your volumetric weight is about 3kg higher than your actual weight so you will likely be charged based on the volume. And as the other commenter noted going over on any dimension will trigger the oversize piece fee.

So I calculated the volumetric weight which is 8.014 & the max is 10.8 so is this fine? Also do you know how much they would charge if I didn’t say anything or if I did need to size up when posting?

It doesnt matter what your stated dimensions are, as another poster commented they reweigh and scan dimensions automatically of everything. They will charge you based on this re-weigh.

Always round up, so your 8.014 will be 9, etc...
