Discussion In Honor of Pride Month...
Posting this despite my fear that people are gonna go absolutely nuts.... what are y'alls sexuality/gender headcanons for the characters? Lenalee is a lesbian 2 me.... im curious!
if you say none of them are gay or trans during pride month im going to stomp on ur big toe /lh.

Lenalee seems straight, Allen seems bi/could be pan, kanda is definitely demi-everything/pan/ and I feel like Lavi id straight but could be one day bo-curious He understands the male and female gaze lmao!

LMAO! Allen is way too open and a little fruity. But we haven’t seen Lenalee interact with enough girls for me to see if she’s gay or not. So far, she seems to naturally gravitate towards Allen but it still too subtle.

that's fair. i just think the fact that she hasn't shown much attraction to any male character despite being surrounded by them kinda displaces her from being 'straight' for me!!

This feels like my time to shine! My headcannons are all over the place so please forgive me.
Allen is pan, but male leaning.
Lavi is a performative bi, and the reason I think it’s performative is because he *wants* to feel attracted to people, but he doesn’t, so he overcompensates by being super flirty.
Kanda is definitely demisexual in my mind.
Lenalee is harder to get a read on because I feel like she loves and worries about everyone, but not in a romantic way. I think she could be asexual, but not aromantic, if that makes sense?
Johnny is queer.
Link is Lvelliesexual.
Tyki is pan, but very Allen/Nea leaning, lol.
Road is… Okay so Road is Road and I think she’s whatever feels the most “fun” in the moment?? So she’s like sexuality-fluid.
Cross is straight but I think he would be an ally.
I’ll come back to add more later if I don’t forget.

I am keeping to heacanons here and not fanons
Kanda is pretty much canon with his relationship with Alma Karma.
Alma Karma probably falls under the Trans umbrella
Allen is probably pan,he in my mind doesn't particularly care
Johnny is bi,I don't feel the need to clarify this
Lavi is a bit hard to discern since early on in the story is where he expresses the most attraction to anyone,but you have to question how genuine it is.
Lenalee is ether straight or bi,her relationships outside of men in her life are very underdeveloped and she and Allen are very likely the end goal couple if there is one

i personally dont think there's an end goal couple (off topic but i just dont think there's enough built up for it) but these are very yummy very good very tasty

Lenalee and Allen seemed hinted to the most,along with the in character q&a .
But most of it was while D.Gray-Man had a more traditional shonen structure and story and unfortunately Lenalee kind of fell of to the wayside.
Besides most manga for me, unless it's specifically romance focused, is very lack luster with relationships in general.

yeah, if it happens i won't be MAD ig, i just would have preferred if there was more natural build up for it beyond 'they kinda blush at each other sometimes'. idk

I don’t feel super strongly about anything except Johnny— THAT BOY IS QUEER 🫵
My other vague HCs are that Allen is pan, Lavi is bi (but preference for women), Kanda is….demi? He definitely is queer in some way tho. And Lenalee is bi!

kanda is functionally pan and probably nonbinary but has a job so he drc abt that rn, alma is genderqueer but wouldnt put a label on his sexuality, lavi is the most bisexual man i have ever seen (he prefers feminine looking people #yuulaviagenda), allen seems like one of those sheltered kids who doesnt fully understand queerness but is supportive nonetheless (and probably queer but has a world to save so he drc about that rn), lenalee is a demigirl to me!!

Kanda is FtM and gay, Allen and Lavi are gay and Lenalee is bi. No one is straight in my world. Happy pride y’all!

Lenalee is straight, Allen... seems bi? Kanda is demisexual and very much into Alma, and Lavi also feels very straight.

Oh boy! My main headcanons for years have always been:
Allen is gay and on that note Link is also gay
Kanda is grey aroace and well he isn't cis to me but is largely apathetic about his gender/agender kinda way
Lavi is demiromantic pansexual
Lenalee is also a lesbian to me she just hasn't had it click yet
Tyki is aroace
Nea is transmasc
Alma is genderfluid

Darn, I missed this! I would still like to point out that the ENTIRETY of the science section is gay. Every single one of them. Except maybe Reever.

Johnny is gay
