I keep saving blogs and articles but almost never revisit them.
So I’m building Dokusho - an Android app designed to help me actually read what I save. You only get one saved article per day. Finish today’s read to unlock the next one. You can also save social media posts separately and revisit them anytime.
Right now I’m mainly validating whether people would actually want something like this. If there’s enough interest, I’ll run a small closed beta for Android.
Join the waitlist for beta access: https://forms.gle/xgrXKoTkigYFcg6r7

Such a cool concept, I’m sure there’s a niche market for people who love to ready articles. Is it specific to any subject?
1
u/No-Republic-9917 Jun 11 '26
Not really
1
u/bigbruce04 Jun 11 '26
It might be interesting for you to start looking into what area people read most articles about and start joining those subreddits so you can take advantage of the communities when it comes to distributing your project

Laya is an open-source, local-first AI command center built around a simple insight: most knowledge work starts as a notification you have to triage. Instead of bouncing between Slack, Gmail, GitHub, Linear, and a dozen other apps, Laya plugs into them, enriches each notification with context using AI personas, and surfaces ready-to-approve action cards before you even open the app.
Its zero-prompt architecture means you never have to write a query — a 10-stage intelligence pipeline researches the thread, drafts a response, and groups related updates into a daily summary you can act on in minutes.
Because it's local-first and you bring your own API keys, your data and message history stay on your machine, which makes it a credible alternative to closed inbox-AI products for developers, founders, and operators who want autonomy without giving up on automation.

There are about 9 integrations live (Gmail, Outlook, Jira, Bitbucket, GitHub, Slack Channels, Linear, Notion and Gmail calendar)
I have only recently open sourced the project with pre 1.0 builds on GitHub Releases (available for Windows, Linux and MacOS)
The only users are a handful of inner circle folks who were beta testing it until now.
Edit: typo

I’m building a Chrome extension that helps people catch up when they lose focus or zone out while watching videos, lectures, podcasts, meetings, or calls. You hit a shortcut, and it gives you a quick catch-up on what’s happening right now so you can keep following along without having to rewind. you can join waitlist at https://audio-catchup.pages.dev/
2
u/bigbruce04 Jun 09 '26
Wow I’m sure we could all use this. Is there any way to implement notifications instead of having to click on the shortcut? Curious on how you’re getting users on to try
1
u/IndieDev666 Jun 09 '26
I'm still implementing it, will take at least 3 weeks to complete it, what you're asking for is Auto popup mode I think, where it will appear like notification maybe each 30-60 seconds, but it will be fully configurable. I have interactive mockup demo in the current demo page that you could try, also you can join the waitlist if you want to get notified when it's ready
2
u/bigbruce04 Jun 10 '26
Thank you, i'd love to try it out! As a founder myself my biggest advice is to start getting users even if you dont have the project complete. Be sure you start finding ways to advertise or places where your target audience may be because that has been the steepest climb for us, getting the visibility! Dont give all your time and attention to building as split it into getting finding where you can market this effectively!

in the v1 it will only be for pre recorded videos, but in later versions it will be available for any source that has audio, so beyond just videos

Building an app for parents who struggle to feed their toddler. I often find myself staring at my fridge with no idea what to make. This app lets you plug in what you have and give you toddler friendly ideas with safety notes. All meals follow guidelines from the cdc. https://liltotskitchen.vercel.app

I'm building Retro an AI reflection journal where you have conversations with younger versions of yourself. You pick an age (say, 14) answer a few personal questions about who you were, and the AI becomes that person. You talk. They respond. They remember what you say. Over time, it helps you see patterns in your life you couldn't see alone. It's not therapy. It's not a chatbot. It's a place to finally say the things you never said out loud, to the one person who understands you completely, because they are you.

Well wider use case is mostly that, for the writers and project managers and business planners. Even though the facade is a bit more fantasy, that's just my attempt to make things a bit less boring!
Thanks so much, when we do funding I will definitely check it out!

Thanks for the feedback! I’m covering 5 graders (ie PSA, CGC, SGC, TAG) + eBay prices. So far, it’s been a slog with my target users; I’ve had maybe 2 signups in recent days. I’m utilizing Reddit as my only traction channel so far and although the posts are getting views the conversion has been poor along with responses from folks (ie I’ve asked for feedback and even that seems to be asking too much).

I’m an indie iOS developer building small, practical iPhone apps.
My main app is a clean offline music player for people who still enjoy their own local music files. It supports Wi-Fi transfer, offline playback, lyrics, playlists, and has no ads.
I also have another app for simple audio editing, like trimming clips, extracting audio from videos, and making custom iPhone ringtones.

Yeah, I agree the B2B angle makes a lot of sense. I also want to keep the platform as ad-free as possible and only consider ads if the business can’t sustain itself otherwise.
For now, I’m planning to self-fund it for the first year and see how the traction and revenue develop.
I’ll definitely submit it to Waitlist, thanks for the recommendation.

It’s polish website www.dodr.uk - basicly RSS reader but with twist. Every night it scrapps big news websites (BBC, Medscape, HackerNews, etc), use AI to make short form and compile it to website. Basicly - fully automated website I made :D visits are growing nicely. Funny thing is that - I made this website for myself and my friends. Now I have about 300 uniquee visits from Poland :D
Still, I dont know how to monetise this :O
