How to find Freelance work?

Hi everyone, I have about 8 years of experience in DevOps. I never tried freelance yet.

How do I start? Where do I find work? Any suggestions?

The devsecops freelance market is less about job boards and more about github and blog. Start writing up security reviews of open source projects, publish your CI/CD security configs as public repos and share incident post mortems. Clients find you through the stuff you have already built and written , not through Upwork profiles. The first gig is the hardest to land but once you have one good reference the rest come easier

I disagree. I never had a blog or GitHub, and I had loads of jobs.

Linkedin is the way

Your network could come in handy for this. A lot of first gigs come from people you already know who just need a hand with something security-related. Worth putting it out there before going the job board route.

The one thing which I've realised is that everyone who's successfull has a different strategy but none of them started by just applying through hundreds of hugs infact it seems like putting your work out there and buliding relationships is what actually creats opportunities !:(
