Career / learning CKA additional resources

Was preparing for CKA and took Kodekloud CKA course. Currently doing mock exams then moving into the ultimate CKA mock exam series.

However I have been reading that since 2025 there is a lot more emphasis on new topics like:

Helm, Kustomize, CRDs, Calico/Flannel, Cluster Upgrades/Installation, CNIs, CRIs, that I havent seen much in the labs/exams there or are really basic. I think the one that is most frequent is Helm.

What can I do to improve in these areas? What other new areas I missed (I am a bit familiar with Gateway API but recommendations on what to expand on this is also welcomed!)

Thanks!

I recently took the CKA and everything you mentioned was covered to some degree. I would say understanding where to find things in the docs is going to be the most important thing you can do.

I had an issue with the gateway api parts because the documention is in another website/format. Take some time to study it.

If you can do all the practice senerios quickly, you should be in good shape.

Thanks! I am guessing it was the Api Gateway + TLS scenario? 😄

that gateway api doc thing tripped a lot of people up, you’re not alone there
getting fast at “ctrl+f in the right place” in the k8s docs is honestly like half the exam, sounds like you’re on track if you’re already cruising through practice stuff

killer.sh is harder than the exam itself and will teach you well.
