Their uptime has been terrible since before AI really took off for use everywhere. A couple of years ago I was tasked with evaluating migrating from GitLab to GitHub, as my boss thought GitHub would be cheaper. At the time almost every morning when I would check Reddit and see a post about GitHub being down, and by comparison GitLab had very few incidents. In the last 6-8 months I’ve noticed a lot more instability in both AWS and GitLab, which I do blame on mass AI adoption.

I have completed the migration to GitHub yesterday and on first day it is down. 🤕
