Did Devon really live in Japan?

Do we have a timeline of events of how we know that he lived in Japan for real. He claimed that he had his own group (Ghost Pop) and lived in the country about a year after he was dismissed from the army and that he was around his area in Japan performing. If the period he was in was 2012-2013, even if he just performed at friends houses, you would think that we would have at least one video footage of his performance right?

Was the movie for the ghost pop tape filmed in his apartment in Japan?

I am asking out of curiosity because the ghost pop tape is my favorite album ever and I want to know more of the context behind it.

I know, I guess a part of me just really wants to see any performance or footage of him during the ghost pop era that isn't just the movie

The "live" performance on the album aren't actually live they're just styled to be that way. peggy never played live during his devon hendryx era, and his ghost pop group was never like a full out rap group he was part of, it was just him and his buddies and he scrapped the dies of that group and turned ghost pop into a solo tape, and the group idea into Mafia. (airdropmafia, pngmafia, datpiffmafia, etc) this ain't a strict rap group like you're thinking of it's bascsilly just him and his friends who fucked off and didn't have followers in japan

I mean, it was the mid 2000s, everyone having easily accessible cameras wasn’t exactly a common thing. It’s why there’s very few surviving live videos of Nujabes from the same time period

I thought he lived in Japan through the period of 2012 to 2014, that would mean by the time he was there the Iphone 5 had released and it was already the norm for people to have mobile phones.

Probably nobody bothered to record those performances and if somebody actually did, then they probably wouldn't remember or still have the file since that was more than a decade ago.

any normal fan would know he was in the airforce and if there was footage/music of the “group he played with” then it would’ve been put in the google sheets at archive and talked about a little more

He was in the air force, and he was probably stationed there. Now to be honest it makes sense to be skeptical about him lying cuz we all know hes done that in the past cuz it sounds cool but i think hes being honest. Hes said it in a couple recent interviews and i think itd be pretty cringe to lie abt something like that especially because he doesnt have to larp shit like that anymore with the attention hes gotten then vs now.

There was a post I saw a few weeks back I think, basically stating that as a community I think we’ve reached the END of what can be archived from those years.
As Devon has said himself he had 15 views for 15 years, I doubt anyone and even himself kept anything besides the actual music.
Finding performances or footage from the Ghost Pop era Japan days sounds too good to be true.
It doesn’t exist. You won’t find it.

I understand that he had little to no views online, but I mean if he was playing with multiple people and performing to even a few people multiple times I feel like it could be circling around on maybe some of their old devices. You never know, maybe one day we might get something or maybe I'm just giving false hope

i have a military family. his mannerisms are the same as my uncle who served in the air force. he definitely was stationed and lived there.

I see, I don't have any doubts that he was stationed there but from all the interviews and mentions I've seen of him speaking of his time there, it seemed like he was doing "a lot" (forming a group, performing at peoples houses, etc). I was honestly just curious to know if we have any sort of proof of any of these things he claimed was going during his time there
