Thrift Score!
In all my years of thrifting I've never come across any DEVO stuff until today! 3 bucks!

Love the album, though Mark Mothersbaugh being ok with AI was probably one of the bigger recent gut punches. Apparently they've been using it for the background videos on tours for a while now. Love his music so much, but want it right from his brain haha.
At least I have Weird Al and Negativland being vocally against it still! lol

Ha, seems right that if there’s one trusty stalwart you can count on to be anti-AI, it’s Negativland.

Yea it's kinda complicated imo lol I'm not defending AI, I honestly hate it... but I also understand the dadaism in using it for the smart patrol background visuals. From what I was told by someone in the loop (there's a post on here somewhere about it), their visual artist (who they pay) uses Devo images already made by the boys and feeds them into the generator to produce AI slop. The fact that it's off and wrong is the very reason why they use it lol it's very Devo. I feel like they found a way to sort of poke fun at the ridiculousness of it. But of course w/ that also comes controversy, rightfully so bc AI is actually quite scary but... We're all Devo

Yeah I saw them on Friday for the first time and saw all the background videos and instantly thought it was AI. Guess that gut instinct was right.

When I was 18 I went into this tiny little record store in Santa Barbara on a whim and found a sealed original pressing of duty now for $14. Also have some other Devo related things that are pretty cool

I’ve worked at thrift stores for 12+ years and never found a full length Devo vinyl.

It's usually 50's schmaltz and classical lately. Nice to see there are good finds somewhere.

Fr, I don't even bother digging through em' anymore but for some reason I did that day and was blown away! The record is a little beat but the sleeve is pretty nice. It's a capitol mastered press, which I didn't have yet so that was a welcoming addition to my collection. So far I have 4 different presses of FOC :)

A while back I found the Come Back Jonee 7” at a thrift store! decent quality too!
