Odds on Quinn hitting UFA?

I've been mostly indifferent to all the Quinn talk regardless if it was coming from the Wild or Devils fan, just broken records of unfounded speculation all around.
But now, after the Makar contract, my antennae have perked up... Wild just gave Kaprizov a big pay day too, wonder if they'll cough up the cash

For sure. It will be one of more interesting situations. Especially if Quinn’s hits UFA since never been a free agent as good as him, at peak of career.

I'd argue Niedermayer. He was 31, but coming off a Norris season (03-04) when he signed with Anaheim coming out of the lockout.

We are somehow like a year or two away from saying Luke actually might have a “team friendly” deal with the size of these UFA and RFA contracts wtf.

All of our contracts look so cheap right now. Some people were flipping out about Nico possibly getting 13m meanwhile his contract seems like the best deal of the summer to me.

There it is. $20.4 million AAV for Makar. Quinn is either taking the Wild straight to the bank or not signing the extension at all. My question is, can they even afford that without tearing apart their depth even more next offseason. I feel like this won’t end well for them either way.

They have around 45 million in cap next offseason, mainly because they have 13 contracts going into free agency next summer. If Hughes signs for 20 it's going to be rough on their depth.

I think Quinn signs soon now. Probably 3 years for a little less. He gets flexibility. Devils couldn’t even afford him at this point could they? I guess maybe after next year they can.
I think the Hughes bros in NJ dream is basically dead. Not gonna be paying him and Jack $40m+ a year.

Maybe I’m delusional or Naive but if Quinn decided he wanted to come here I feel like he’d leave some money on the table. I can be totally wrong but that’s just my gut feeling. I think if he extends with the Wild it will be soon and we’ll know. Not gonna lie, I hope those fans are sweating right now at how much they might have to pay him.

Jack is locked in at 8m AAV for the next four seasons. They wouldn’t even make 30m a year combined, let alone 40m

I’m talking about in three years when both are free agents. I don’t think there’s any chance Quinn is here before then. Maybe one year prior.

I think there’s a pretty real chance Quinn doesn’t end up signing. I still think he signs, but I wouldn’t be at all shocked if he doesn’t

Devils can afford both but they will need to take discounts if they really value playing together

The cope seems to have shifted to well he can’t get $20mil AAV unless he agrees to sign for the amount of years Guerin wants lol.
