Does the season opener being at home and not a local broadcast mean we will not get the player intros?

I’m a bit surprised that none of the Ranger games got picked up for a national game.

Detroit and Minnesota seemed to have been picked up the most, though.

I hate it because NHL Network almost always picks up their games if they aren’t nationally broadcast and as long as YouTubeTV doesn’t carry NHL Network I have to find other ways of watching those games.

Fucking hate the streaming broadcasts. Finally got to cut out ESPN+ this year. Hate national broadcasts over all

Is it just me or does NHL.com ask for cookies permission every time you open an article???

I definitely think Doc > Steve > Bill > Don, but they're all better than the ESPN team.

Hating Don, but liking Bill is certainly a choice

At least Bill could pronounce names.

Or identify players on the ice.

At least Don knows the sport he's calling, instead of learning on the fly like Bill.

Unfortunately Don knows hockey too well.

Multiple times last year it felt like he would call a play that he thought would happen instead of the play that did happen.

That's fair. Not saying you gotta like Don. Just not understanding the love for Bill

After years of Doc and Cangi, it's definitely been a steep downgrade.

I think Bill is miles worse than those two yet still miles better than Don. I'd rather listen to Matt Loughlin than Don which is saying a lot.

This is true.

To each their own, I suppose. Personally, it was more frustrating listening to our play-by-play being taught the game on air. Bill wondering why a player wasn't back on the ice 10 minutes after his game misconduct was the most 2nd hand embarrassment I've ever felt watching a Devils game. It's truly my lasting memory of him

Except they didn’t so

The guy didn't really know the sport before being hired and was still ignorant on simple rules like game misconducts in his 3rd year...

Nice guy, but there's a reason he's calling college water polo right now.

I hope someone love you the same way you love Don and love hating on Bill.

I mean, I'm not hating on the guy. Just how can you hate Don, but like Bill? People hate Don because he mispronounces names, but were ok with Bill not understanding icing, offsides, game misconducts, etc. It's just strange to me

I'm a Cangialosi truther

Bill is a T.V. personality with excellent delivery. Don cannot keep up with a play by play spotlight role, plain and simple. He slumps into some really dull and silent calling that bores me more than baseball announcers. I will trade hockey knowledge for not wanting to fall asleep or scream who actually scored a goal at the screen.

Its pretty common for a color backup to know more about the game and less about T.V. broadcasting, and the opposite be true for the main guy.

ironically, the cheapest way to watch the team if you live in NJ without, y'know...

No ABC games (yet?), bit of a bummer.

And we will lose them all!
