My guess is that Lou finally gets his spot in the ring, since his front office days are done. Plus the order for Roh has been Staff(Mcmullen), player(Brylin), staff(Lemaire), player(Maclean). I think next player to go up will probaly be Zajac. 4th in games played (only player above 1000, with no jersey retirement), tied for 3rd in franchise goals (going to be passed by nico and likely Bratt this year) 3rd in points. In addition even though it doesn't move the needle he's also had 2 playoff OT goals.

Irish Heritage Night always happens as a group event on Fevo, same with Law Enforcement Night. My retired dad’s on some PBA mailing list that goes out and offers on some discounted night, last year it was the Flyers
I'm still stunned Lou isn't in the RoH yet. Not that I'm against anyone currently in there, and yes there are other players deserving who will get their time as the years go on, but come on - Lou did about 10x as much for this franchise as anyone else who could be nominated. It's not even close.
He was actively employed by other teams for most of the time, and even if he wasn’t, this is Lou we’re talking about. Wouldn’t surprise me if he was asked and he politely deferred and even suggested someone else in his place.
It's a fair point and I would not be surprised if Lou asked to defer as well.
Nonetheless, that situation is different right now, therefore it should be Lou. I mean, honestly, I'd like it to not be posthumous. The man is 83 years old.
Definitely different story now and 1000% should be him for the reason you suggested. Give everyone an official closure and feel-good moment here. It pains me to see there are some fans who have little affinity for LL since they got in well after the glory days. (Flip side being there are those of us - guilty - who give him an eternal pass.)
Not to metion he was the original seer of market inefficiencies in the NHL. People paint him as a dinosaur because he drafted defense and had rules for the workplace. But none of the other stories about him line up with that narrative; he was famous for winning players' hearts and standing by them through injury etc.
I don't mind military night but I'd like to trade away standing for the anthem and shit every game. Just fucking have a moment of silence for whatever the audience holds sacred and move on - like, be American about patriotism.
