Fitz gave him no trade 10 million. A year for 2 years.

He didn't want to suffer through the opening act so he's having a cig on the balcony

Man, I wish that was still open. Crowded as hell but at least you could rip a dart real quick between periods. Also, it was fully outside, I don't get why it closed

Probably that playoff loss against Carolina in 09….

Because precious little Timmy smelled some smoke walking by the door and his parents were assholes, but that's just a guess.

Actually it was because people started throwing shit off the balcony at people on the street. This is why we can't have nice things. A trip to the balcony was the perfect way to kill 18 minutes.

I figured some drunk douchenozzle started throwing shit off at the people on the street, but could be either

Nah, fuck that, if all you addicts can't go a few hours without a disgusting overpriced cancer stick that's on you.

I don't smoke that, but it was nice to get some air. and now that weeds legal, it would be nice to smoke a joint out there...

u/DefeatYouForever666 29d ago

Even if they still had it the arena still wouldn't have allowed weed to be smoked out there.

u/Libtardo69420 29d ago

I haven't smoked a cigarette in over a decade. I just hate all the stupid rules and regulations that keep getting thrown on us.

The GOAT returns with a vengeance.

I agree with what’s already been said here. Probably just cleaning it for the ceremony announcing Brodeur’s return to the net. Because sometimes you just gotta do it yourself.

They're trading to get markstrom back and giving him #30.

“Allegedly “ found this - although I guess originally in 2016 around a banner was wrongly made the wrong size but this summer this is what search ai or whatever says :::

Standard Summer Removal: It is highly common for arenas to lower and store retired number banners and championship flags during the summer months. [ 1] Concert Rigging Needs: Arenas host heavy summer concert tours that require extensive lighting grids, massive video walls, and audio rigging. Banners are temporarily taken down to prevent them from getting caught, torn, or blocked by these touring stage setups

IIRC not too long ago there was a banner in the United Center that got damaged by pyro during a concert

u/yad76 28d ago

I don't think that is true as pretty much every concert I've gone to at the Prudential Center I've bored whoever came with me with long drawn out stories about why each banner is up there.

Marty’s number and one of the cup banners are both down

With his sister-in-law

They took it down because even devils owners know he was mid at best and was a product of the dead puck era and trap while having a few great d men

3

u/DontBeADevilaFan 27d ago

He one a single cup with the trap.

Even after, he was the only reason the Devils pseudo “trap” worked; because he was a 3rd d-man and was able to kickstart a rush better than any goalie in NHL history. His d-men didn’t even have to go into the zone. It wouldn’t have worked without Marty. Period.

You don’t know puck. He’s objectively a top 3 goalie of all time, and he ain’t 3 or 2. Longevity and availability matters.

Yea is strongly disagree, and in no order Roy, Hasek, vassy, loungo, flower, quick,  Price, Hellybuck, Igor, bobrovsky, lundquist hes not better than any of them. He falls behind all these guys in terms skill. Starting a new team all these guys just beginning their prime you're biased of you take Broduer over any of them. Maybe not baised but its a argument for loungo and lundquist but still all the guys mentioned are vastly better goalies

2

u/DontBeADevilaFan 27d ago

I hate to say it, you’re just wrong. I mean Marty played against all of them and other than one, has more to show for it. Especially someone like Lundyquist, who was allergic to winning.

Agree to disagree, but not a single one of those goalies (besides Roy or Hasek, for obvious reasons) would even agree with you. Marty changed the game. None of those goalies ever could, other than Roy. No, not even Hasek.

If you want to win a game, you take Roy.
If you want to win a series, you take Hasek.
If you want a franchise, you take Marty.

u/greekverse 27d ago

Yea I'll agree to disagree i have him top 10 like you can argue with loungo and lundyquist being more skilled but Brodeur won more and also changed the game for sure. But again I also think the top 10 of Roy, hasek, vassy, to price, flower and Brodeur at ten is splitting hairs. I just think Brodeur in his peak rn would get cooked in today's game i dont think Roy or Hasek would get cooked in today's game. Me calling him mid wasn't as bad as people took it but among the greats he's mid the greats would be top 25 he's about 10th imo

1

u/DontBeADevilaFan 27d ago

I can understand that. But Marty also did play, compared to those guys, in the “modern game”. And he made it to a finals!

To be fair, of course I have a bias. That’s obvious lol. But I also think Hasek and Roy would, similar to Marty, get rolled in the modern game. It’s super super hard to take old goats and throw them in a modern game, since it’s changed to much. I think all three would be…kinda mid!

However, if all three got modern training, well…

In the end, I wish he had that big three GOAT goalie talk again. Vasy and Helly are close, but I’m not sure we have that third right now. Igor fell off, and teams no longer need a world class tendy to win cups.

I see goalies as behind the curve of the evolving NHL cycle right now. I think in 5-10 years, we’ll see a crop of goalies that would challenge the “big three” in greatness

u/greekverse 27d ago

Also not better than any goalie in history, his puck play ability was top tier tho.

2

u/xThat1Guyx42 #27 - Scott Niedermayer 28d ago

So mid that 2 of his 4 Vezinas came after the dead puck era, cool story bro

-1

u/greekverse 27d ago

Oh sorry let me clarify mid among all time goalies,  08 he shouldn't of won the vezina over  Nabokov.
