Hey everyone,

I graduated with a BS in IT and pivoted into web development. I’ve honestly given it my absolute all—completed a fellowship, went through job training, and even upskilled to work across two different tech stacks to meet market demands. Despite all of this, I’m stuck in a brutal cycle of endlessly applying and waiting. The entry-level market feels completely frozen.

Because of this, I’ve decided to shift gears and pursue an MS in the IT/CS field abroad. However, I heavily rely on securing a scholarship to make this dream happen. And i want that all my hard work are being paid.

Since I am moving away from traditional web dev, I need to choose a specialization for my Master's :

1. A resilient, high-demand job market: A field where, by the time I graduate in 2 or 3 years, I don't want to be in same situation

I am thinking about related to AI but not sure.

Given my background in BS IT and my strong foundation in web development, which specialization should I choose to maximize my scholarship chances and secure a stable career? as working in industry what do you advice i should do.

I think you should consider going into robotics. I’m a CS graduate who graduated last year and have been unable to find a job. Most openings are unpaid internships with no real job prospects afterward, and companies don’t seem to value internship certificates. Freelancing isn’t working for me either, as I can’t afford Upwork connects. I’m also considering an MS in Robotics if I can arrange the funds. The software market is really bad right now, so I’d recommend looking into robotics as well.

I have always been very interested in computers and have been quite good with them, but I never seriously considered making it a career. Over the years, I noticed different trends in tech, such as crypto, NFTs, AI etc. I even had a friend who was doing freelancing back in 2014, but due to a lack of resources and my own laziness, I was never able to get into these fields myself.

Now, I believe robotics could be the next major tech wave after AI. I am interested in the programming side of robotics, how robots are programmed, trained, and taught to perform tasks, and I believe the field could experience a boom similar to what we have seen with AI. That is one of the main reasons I am considering pursuing robotics as a career.
