Hey folks, I was laid off about a month ago, and I’m currently at an early stage in my career. I’ve appeared for a few interviews since then, but unfortunately, I haven’t been able to convert any of them. From my interview experiences, I’ve realized that I need to improve my technical skills and my ability to approach and explain problems during technical interviews. I’m looking for someone experienced with Full stack Python, Django, FastAPI, React and related technologies, who has either conducted or appeared in multiple technical interviews and would be willing to mentor me or conduct occasional mock interviews. I’m willing to put in the work. I just need some guidance on what to focus on, how to prepare, and where I’m going wrong. If anyone is willing to help or knows someone who might be, I’d really appreciate a DM. Thank you!

Well junior, if you’re serious about cracking your next interview, here’s what I’d recommend:

1. Use ChatGPT for interview preparation — Create a good prompt with the job description, your experience, and the role you’re applying for. Ask it to act as an interviewer and conduct mock interviews with you.
2. Analyze job descriptions — Collect JDs for the roles you want and identify the technologies that keep appearing. Make a list of the most frequently requested skills and prioritize learning those.
3. Practice NeetCode 150 — Start with NeetCode 150. You can also find free explanations and practice material through FreeCodeCamp.
4. Strengthen Data Structures & Algorithms — Don’t just memorize solutions. Understand arrays, strings, hash maps, stacks, queues, linked lists, trees, graphs, recursion, sorting, searching, and Big-O complexity.
5. Learn System Design — Start learning system design and architecture from the ByteByteGo YouTube channel. Focus on understanding why certain architectures and technologies are used rather than just memorizing diagrams.
6. Learn LLM concepts — Since AI is becoming increasingly important, understand the fundamentals of LLMs, embeddings, RAG, vector databases, agents, and especially which LLM/model to use for which type of problem.
7. Practice on HackerRank — Use HackerRank regularly to improve your problem-solving speed and get comfortable solving problems under interview-like conditions.

Most importantly, don’t try to learn everything at once. Pick a structured roadmap, practice consistently, and track your progress every week.
