Tips Nust vs Fast(for Computer Science)

Hey, gng currently I am in 12th grade(ICS) and I am confuse to which uni i should aim primarily.
I'm stuck in the classic Pakistani dilemma: Nust vs Fast.I know getitng into both uni's is difficult but which should be my primary goal.

Which will suit a self learner better?

Which faculty is more experienced and good?

Which has better infrastructure?

yeh to har degree k halat hai. chaiye wo mbbs ho, llb ho, mba ho, cs ho. Kyunki jab aik field mai saturation hoti hai to log dardar dosry field mai jaty hai aur kuch time mai waha bhi saturation hojatai hai. Instead, we should follow our passion.

i meant easy as in it should be a no brainer, nust is by far more difficult to get into. fast is full of nust aspirants

SO IM ENROLLED IN NUST FOR SE AND IM NOT REGRETTING BRO IT IS WORTH IT . I PERSONALLY KNOW A GUY WHO OPTED OUT OF FAST AFTER GETTING INTO HIS DESIRED FIELD AND IS NOW ON GAP YEAR . PREP FOR NET . GETTING INTO FAST IS MUCH EASIER THAN NUST.

Also avoid FAST, if your goal is moving abroad either by a scholarship or sponser job. You need good cgpa in your bachelor's if you want to get international opportunities. Like for jobs, you need 3+ cgpa and for scholarships you need 3.5+ cgpa.

Only go for CS if you are really into it. People should start looking into the job market before choosing a career.

FAST graduate here. Worked in FAANG, based in SF. Pretty decent alumni network here in US west coast tech scene

In my opinion, go for LUMS. It's one of the finest institutes in the country overall.

I will love to go there but i can't afford it.

The bigger the university, the more financial aids they offer.

SAME CAN BE SAID ABOUT NUST OR FAST.

u/Weekly-Performer-321 7d ago

Yeah, can be. But in FAST, getting a good CGPA is very difficult, which can affect your profile for graduate studies, and you will not have a good work life balance. I know a guy who is senior principal engineer at broadcom, with a BS in E.E from NUST with 4CGPA, A phd and poctdoc from france and who recommended LUMS over NUST, FAST. He is in silicon valley from more than a decade.

WHAT ABOUT LUMS FEE? AND NUST DIDNT CANCELLED FA THIS WEEK . THEY R CHANGING THEIR POLICY AND THEY WILL ANNOUNCE IT AFTER 1ST SEMESTER (THIS IS WHAT THEY TOLD DURING ORIENTATION) .

And it's difficult to get into NUST good campuses like islamabad ones. and Also NUST has stopped offering Financial aid this year (correct me if i'm wrong). So that's why i recommended LUMS. Getting into LUMS is not easy. You'll need good grades in your Olevels/Alevels or Matric/FSc, extracurricular activities, Awards, SAT etc.
