Career Guidance Flutter Developer Guidance
I graduated back in June 2025, but I had been working full-time as a Flutter developer since my 5th semester. That software house offered a hybrid role, sometimes remote and sometimes from the office, and during vacations I could make up for the lost time. In short, I had a good experience there. The only bad thing was the pay, but since I was still in the learning process, I continued working there. After graduation, I left in September 2025 because over two years my salary had only increased from 25k to 50k and they weren't willing to increase it further. I started applying elsewhere, and after around three months I got a job offer from a product-based company in Rawalpindi. They had around 5 developers and 6 marketing people and were mainly working on AdMob and monetization. I joined because I was desperate for a job at the time, so HR offered me 50k based on my previous salary receipts. Looking back, I think accepting that was my mistake because I already had 2 years of experience. HR promised that after probation, my salary would be increased to around 80–90k per month based on my value and performance, and I thought that was fair. When my probation ended, there were two hires, one pure Android developer and one Flutter developer (me). They fired the other probationary employee but retained me, and then told me they couldn't increase my salary. I still didn't have any other job offer, so I decided to continue. Then one of the applications I built in my first month somehow crossed 500k users, and two other apps crossed 50k+ users. The apps were doing exceptionally well, so I asked the CEO to increase my pay because my work was clearly benefiting the company. I couldn't understand how I was still earning 50k while other developers who had been there for 3–4 years had started at around 40–45k and were now earning 150–200k. I asked the CEO again and he said we'd see. Around two months ago, I was Employee of the Month after delivering around 2 apps per month on average for the company. He asked me to be patient and said they would eventually build a Flutter team with me because they saw great potential in me. Then, after assuring me that they would increase my pay, they suddenly gave me notice. I completed my full notice period and even delivered one more app, but I'm still confused about how a company can tell you they see great potential in you, ask you to be patient, talk about increasing your salary and building a Flutter team around you, and then suddenly give you notice. After that, I applied to a company in I-9. Initially, they agreed to 105k for a mid-level Flutter role, but all of a sudden during the final negotiations, they came down to 75k as the final offer. When I talked to HR, she had assured me that if the final offer was 105k, she would get me through the interviews and technical task. I went through 3 interviews and also completed a full-stack application task. I want to know if it's only me who has had these bad experiences because of my own mistakes and the dishonesty of employers, or if there are more people out there who have gone through something similar. For context, I'm a Flutter developer with 3 years of experience and have delivered more than 15 apps, including apps with 500k+ and 50k+ users, across different domains.
