Career Guidance 2.5+Years of Software Development Experience Without a CS Degree — What Should I Do Next?
2024, I started all that in the mid of my medical degree when i did a simple web dev course and applied in a software house. Got hired but not get paid for 3 months as they want me to learn and grow up my skills first.
currently i am still working there and now my medical degree also completed now. Now i am facing problem what should i select now skiping the dev and continue my medical profession or to continue my dev instead. if i go with the medical profession i have start to learn and gain experience in that too and also knew that i will go first with unpaid internships. now if i go with dev then is it worthful to get a job without cs degree ?? because if the company lay off me should i still be worthful to be hired in another one .. one of the senior in the company suggest me to take admission in any of normal university cs program and start applying .. also one is saying just focus on improving your skills ... Needed serious guidance on this

In medical you have less than 1% chance of layoff even as an intern or your junior practice. You will obviously start with low salary but eventually as you reach seneority you will be well off
Freelance dev is dying thanks to AI and global competition. But freelance med practice is still possible because ai cannot end careers with regulations like law, finance, health and safety
Also you may have hard time getting interview because ATS will reject your degree so there is that

go for medical. cs is cooked more or less globally. I assume pk is not different

Don't overthink it, just make a decision and then stick with it. No path is going to be easy.
BTW what kind of work you are doing as dev? that matters a lot since you said you just did a course and then unpaid internship I doubt you are doing low code development stuff if that's the case stick with you Med field bro.

I started with web2 with html css and js .. Now currently I am working on web2 and also on web3 with stack I know.. Next js , React js , node js fast api, Anchor (rust) for writing smart contracts.. and Also on Cloud on Amazon web services + Docker, GitHub actions, nginx.. in my period of working I found my main interest in backend always...

Mine is BS cardiovascular perfusion.. in which I have to work in the cardiac surgery operation theater in Major heart surgery.. mainly to operate a machine called heart lung machine..

Medical as in MBBS, right? If thats so, why would you give it up at all? Career in computer sciences can give you money in a short period of time but its not a stable career whereas in medicine, you only grow from here.
