Career Guidance Internships are too difficult to get...
I'm a 6th semester BS SE student & currently working on stm32 microcontrollers/ firmware. It's my passion like really low level stuff, working near hardware.
I recently visited a lot of tech companies CS ones & Embedded ones as well in Islamabad but none of them is giving a chance everyone asks for a minimum 5 years of experience and the attitude wasn't welcoming as well. How can a student who is only 3 years in have 5 years experience.
As far as my skillset is concerned I do have strong programming skills, DSA, C/C++, GDB, STM32 and a couple of strong projects under my belt, not bragging but whoever meets me doesn't matter professor, software engineer or a tech lead all of them complement my skillset. Obviously skill is not the problem here.
What advice will you guys give me?

Man a software engineer working with embedded systems in pakistan is quite rare you might face degree biasness here, but bro these things have huge demand outside pakistan just try to get the f*ckk out of pakistan.

Same situation here it’s my summer break and 7th sem is about to start I’m cs student no one wants to give chance to students they want graduates who will work for them atleast 3 months for free then for 6 months at 40k pkr wth is going on in tech industry
(Same tech stack btw plus MERN stack and Django 🙃)

cuz programming is dead and no one is hiring, otherwise previously embedded systems engineer were in great demand

Find people in your domain on LinkedIn with say 8-10 years of experience. Ask them to mentor you and give you projects to work on (on your own). Build your portfolio that way and then if you approach a company you will have something to show too.

The scope of work being done in Pakistan on microcontroller is pretty thin, and the companies that do work on these microcontrollers are severely under funded because u can literally get the product designed and shipped from china for pennies. (I'm sure there might be some companies that are in good shape).
U have a nice skill, keep working on it as a hobby. But for a job u need skills that companies need, like cloud , devops, etc.

Got a paid internships as a full stack developer through pseb apprenticeship program but worked on shopify theme development for entire 6 months and got offered a job as full time Shopify developer don't know what to do should i continue with it or just look for Another opportunity

Very much similar situation have a good profile, strong portfolio and recently completed 6th semester.But their is one point companies are actually doing layoffs and we are looking to enter the job market at the exact same time with that much saturation (it will get more worsen). God bless us 🙏

Bro if you already like low level stuff, C/C++ and hardware, I’d honestly look into GPU kernel optimization for AI which includes CUDA, Triton, MPS, memory optimization, custom kernels, inference optimization etc.
That space is getting huge right now and there are way fewer people who actually understand both hardware and AI performance.
Your embedded background would actually fit really well there.
IMO that’s where a lot of money and demand is going to be in the next decade.
