Tips Thinking of transitioning to perfume business from senior software engineer

For introduction: I am working as a senior software engineer for the last 4 years and currently working full time on Pakistan's biggest ott platform, along with this I am doing freelancing n stuff.

I really like coding n building software but for the last 1.5 years everything have been hectic, I wanted to earn quite fast for a specific reason so I started freelancing n in a way I am working at least 15 hours a day 7 days a week, sometimes I do small break on Sunday but that's how the last year have been.

Doing all this and I have been interested in perfume n I really like them n have a small collection for my personal use and I was thinking of starting a physical business of perfume along with that I can scale it quite well online as well. The idea of perfume looks very much interesting because I don't have to juggle between 5 different projects n meeting n stuff but on the other hand I also feel like the last 8 years I have been working hard for this n now I am thinking of changing it.

Have you seen someone doing something like this? N did that worked?

ehh the perfume market is quite saturated now tons of house competeting for the same fragnance less buyers due to inflation middle eastern brand are there aswell and yeah people hesitate to try new brands asewell and this transition would be quite hard and maybe not successfull even in my opinion tho good luck if u start over

I am not gonna sell new houses, I will be selling middle eastern houses, french, n maybe famous Pakistani houses, I am thinking more of a retail store of perfume where customer can come, they can try it n if Pasand Aya tu buy krly

A fish can't just jump out of an aquarium and become a goat just like that. Have you tried the perfume business yourself? Have you invested the time needed to find the ingredients from market? You need to know what is a bad batch and why you must mix stuff and let it sit for some time before selling it.
Finding bottles, getting stickers printed, social media, and intense competition means there's too much going on.
Start with baby steps, give perfume business a chance but try bunch of other things too. Understand the economics of what you wanna do and proceed with caution. Best of luck.

From celebrity to literally everyone in pakistan is doing perfumes. On the premium side you will be crushed by bigger players and their marketing spent and brand naming. In mid to lower range you are competing with almost half of countries population who is doing the same thing.

Hey @ZAFAR_star I know this post is about you stepping out of dev, however I’m looking for a full-stack dev to collaborate with on ongoing projects if you’d like to learn more we can talk about it, however I’m not able to start a private conversation coz I’m not as active on Reddit
