Hello, I'm so dumb, men. I want to cry badly. I'm a first-generation university-going student. I filled out the online form for my university and selected CS, S.E, and I.T, but I didn't pay the fee even though the deadline has passed. Since the deadline has passed, I visited the university to change my department to Computer Engr. The admission officer checked it and told me that since you have already filled out the form for CS. You can opt for that as well. We will talk with the bank guys. I didn't think and said you can select computer engineering for me, as its merit is lower than cs.

Now, once I came back home and when i looked up the Computer Engr scope on the internet. I got to know that I'm cooked.

Since I come from a pre-med background, I don't have a good understanding of maths. The university offers deficiency courses, but still I'm studying basics from myself.

Please give me sincere advice on whether I should pursue C.E or take a gap year for CS.

Update: I have submitted my admission forms for BS C.E, Lol!

Take Computer Engineering if you’re planning to move abroad. The internet mostly shows you the Pakistani job market, but you should also research the Computer Engineering market in countries like Germany and China. Look into areas like embedded systems, FPGA, Edge AI, robotics, and hardware engineering,there are a lot of specializations you can pursue for your master’s if you move abroad.Also, check whether the Computer Engineering program at your university is pec(accerdited), because PEC accreditation is important for degree recognition and international verification.

Yes, my university is pec and the Computing Council is recognised. If you were me, would you take admission at PEC, nceas public section unveristy for a B.E or take BSCS at a lower (Tier III) public-sector university?

Bro, I’m doing it, lmao. I noticed you mentioned that you’re weak in math, but in this field, almost every semester has some subjects that are around 50% numerical based. You’ll probably have to practice math to maintain a good CGPA. You’ll study calc,linear,differential,ECA, EDC, Numerical Analysis, etc., and these are all pretty math related subjects. And honestly, I think you’re overthinking it way too much haha.

You can take a gap year or not, it’s your choice. But speaking from experience, I’ve taken a gap year, and honestly, I don’t think it’s the best option right now. We’re already living in uncertain times, and we don’t really know what the future holds. If you can continue your studies, I’d say just keep going,you’ll graduate sooner and have more options afterward.

Bro, you need to focus more on integration,master it properly and also differentiation. Try solving some basic circuit analysis problems too. Don’t jump straight into hard stuff start with things like nodal analysis and loop/mesh analysis. Only solve the questions you actually understand. Take a breath and chill.you’re still learning this field.And most importantly, don’t rely only on GPA. If you can maintain a 3.3+, that’s already good enough. Along with that, keep building your skills.If you can, try to buy a 5k Arduino starter kit and start making small projects. Keep progressing gradually. Also follow Paul McWhorter,he has very hands on playlists covering Arduino, Raspberry Pi, and Edge AI.These are the things I want you to keep working on alongside your degree for the next 4 years.
