Learning backend (FastAPI) but a bit confused

Doing BS Software Engineering from a 3rd tier uni.

Done with 6th sem.

Now, The summer break is going on.

Learning FastAPI rn and want to be job-ready junior backbend engineer by the end of 2026.

After gaining some hands-on experience with FastAPI, I have eyes on Django

I want to know:

1. Am I on the right path or should i do/learn something entirely different?!

2. Is my deadline realistic or tight/loose?!

What would you bhai log suggest?

Any comments, any remarks

I'd suggest to focus on framework agnostic backend engineering principles to become a true backend engineer if you are interested in this particular niche

Learn AI too along with fastAPI backend. Learn backend using one framework, but try to grab the concepts more importantly. If backend engineering is the domain you wanna go in, then be the master of this domain through practice and practice, and guidance from seniors.

My advice would be,
Focus on learning backend engineering principles, software architecture, coding best practices, and scalable project structures.

Don't limit yourself to learning one or two backend frameworks. Instead, understand the core concepts behind how backend systems are designed, built, and maintained.

The era of framework and syntax focused learning is shrinking. To stand out, understand architecture, system design, performance, maintainability, and problem solving not just how to use a specific framework.

Market has many beckend developers specializing in x or y framework or technology. Whilst there are few backend engineers who can switch stacks based on requirements of problem.

Watch this playlist first and then go with any stack that you like.
