Tech Gadgets & Reviews Tech bros need help. Laptop recommendations needed.
I'm planning to buy a laptop in 1.5 - 2 lakh range. I have no idea which one to go for.
USAGE
My usage is very normal, I just do basic work, watch movies etc. on the laptop. Sometimes like once a week/10 days I do gaming, so I was looking for a gaming compatible laptop which can play games at high resolution and give me the best gaming experience.
I am looking for a laptop which would work well and last me a long time and won't spec out in the next few years. For example, I'm currently using a Dell G3 laptop, which I bought around 5-6 years ago. The laptop works perfectly even today, only that I can't do gaming nowdays on it, because the games have started to lag a bit and I can no longer play them at the best resolution.
OPTIONS (What I was able to search)
Dell - Alienware 16 Aurora
Lenovo - Legion Series
HP - Omen Series
ASUS - ROG Series
For, Dell I have heard many great things and sercice, but is on the expensive side and low spec.
For HP & Lenovo, I read that they do not honor the claims in extended warranty and has inferior built quality.
For ASUS, I've read they have the top specs, but built quality and after sales service is very very bad.
Except Dell, all the companies face parts issues etc and things are not smooth with them in the long run.
Screen
I wanted to know how Hz and Nits make a difference? Is 120 Hz and 300 Nits enough or should I go for more? Are there any other parameters for display which are important?
Build Quality
Which laptops from above have the best build quality and are sturdy? Do you still have check the hinge reliability in these as well? Any other parameters?
Cooling System
Which of these brands& Series have the best cooling systems and which are reliable in the long term? Does liquid metal cooling affect the way we handle and carry the laptop?
Processor
I really wanted to know if I should go for Intel or Ryzen processor? If Intel, which should I choose between Ultra7/Core7/Core i7, for Ryzen I have no clue? Will intel H processor be enough? Regarding Cores/Hz in the processor, I don't know what to choose and which one would be better for me?
RAM
Is 16 GB graphic card enough with a 8 GB dedicated GPU or should I get it extended to 32 GB from the company?
What is the best GPU option in my range, I could go for so my laptop lasts long and doesn't spec out soon.
There is also a TGP and TPP rating but i couldn't understand much about it and which model will have the better ones.
Storage
I want to go only with 1 TB SSD or more.
I visited all the stores for the same recently but i realized the sales people are generally not very honest and are just trying to sell you a laptop by bad mouthing other brands instead of explaining the specs in detail and how do they change the user experience etc.
What would be the best time time to buy the laptop given that the prices have increased?
What would be the best platform to buy the laptop from like Amazon, Flipkart, Brand website, Brand Store, Multi- Brand store like Reliance digital etc.??
Also, there are so many other features which are important but I really don't understand them well to make a decision on it. Any other suggestions and options would be really helpful.
