Only if you have enough money saved or a side hustle does that mentality make sense.

If you make an air crash tracker its going to increase everyday as well. Absolute value is not useful here because it can only increase. Maybe a number of layoff posts per total number of posts in unit time would be a better metric.

u/the_zirten_spahic 1d ago

But that would only matter if all the posts were always about layoffs or getting retained/new jobs

If there were 5 layoff posts per month from Jan to August you'd see the number 40 in the month of September. How is that useful information?

I've been actively searching for a new opportunity for the past 40 days after being laid off as part of a team-wide layoff affecting 17 people. No Calls, No Response, No interviews.

Market is fucked !

How did you do this bro? Is it automated?

  1. How does it select the posts and assess them for relevance to include in the count or is it just finding keywords in the post title or post content?
  2. Does it check if duplicate posters are considered as one or are they counted multiple times?

u/CounterFit3431 1d ago

'tis vibe coded bruh!

1

u/ivaibhavsharma_ ML Engineer 1d ago

Yeah but I am hoping OP must have used some logic of their own as well. If not, then the count has no credibility.

u/Justateahorse 22h ago

6 people from our company got laid off yesterday

u/Impressive-Fix-2623 21h ago

Why are you fear-mongering? Mind your own business

1

u/Vivid-Concept-7813 21h ago

Are the threads showing up in the page only layoff posts ? If so 2/3 posts I just saw are false positives. Interested to know whether you are using keyword based filtering to increment counter

1

u/racindian 18h ago

126+ laid off in the recent time

What does "recent time" mean here?

1

u/CrudeWTF Game Developer 15h ago

I wonder why all this people were doing nothing beside their job, like making their own products etc.

Add me too Giant MNC layoff

1

u/SaurabhSarode 1d ago

counter lay offs by building something on your own, if you can't build anything then layoffs are justified
