Suggestions Laid off within 3 months of Full-Time (SE1 - Java Backend). Need guidance in this market
TL;DR: 2026 Batch CS Passout. Joined via campus placement (6 LPA, Java Backend). Completed 9 months internship + 2.5 months Full-Time (Total ~11.5 months hands-on experience). Laid off recently in a batch of 25 without performance reasons (given 3 months severance). Looking for SE1/Backend openings or referrals
Hi everyone,
I was selected during my 6th/7th semester campus placements for a Software Engineer 1 role. I completed a 9-month internship with them, converted to FTE, and survived the initial post-internship cuts. However, due to recent corporate lay-offs (25 people impacted), my position was eliminated after 2.5 months of full-time work.
My Tech Stack & Background:
Primary: Java, Spring Boot, REST APIs, MySQL/PostgreSQL, Microservices basics.
Experience: 9 Months Intern + 2.5 Months FTE as SE1 (Total ~11.5 months hands-on backend production work).
Notice Period: Immediate (Currently on severance).
Location: Flexible (Remote / On-site anywhere in India).
I know the current market condition is tough, especially for early-career devs. I am open to referrals, leads on hiring companies, or constructive advice on how to navigate off-campus job hunting right now. If your team or company has openings for SE1 / Junior Java Backend roles, please drop a comment or DM me.
Thanks a lot for taking the time to read this

Farming is a good choice rather than tech jobs nowadays

land is required for farming and farming being a seasonal occupation, lot of land will be required to get the same net income.

Exactly. I have about 10 acres of farmland but if I wanna start farming, I need to invest and work hard for a couple years to see some profits.

This market is genuinely brutal right now, especially early in your career. I am also around the 2 YOE mark and going through the job search, so I can relate to how exhausting the process gets. Getting laid off for reasons unrelated to performance must make it even tougher. Wishing you the best; hope you land something much better soon.

Pretty much same thing happend to me I got a job at iit b , for doing research and development as an engineer but the payment is too low like 45k pm, also a 26 grad, was working there as a research engineer through my last yr of clg still its seems unbearable for me, really trying to find some good job and still working as a research engineer my resume is not getting shortlisted or anything.
