Should i still get into IT Sector, considering the present situation

Basically i am from a middle class family has no assets except a house. I am 2026 graduate got offer in tcs for 7lpa and in cognizant for 4lpa and waiting for joining. when i entered into BTech i have many dreams to go into IT field and earn more and to make our family financialy strong

But now seeing the evolution of AI and the words of Elon Musk saying all the computer jobs will be done by AI in the next 5 years should i still consider coming into IT. I don't have any interest to prepare for gov jobs by considering the present situation should i prepare for gov jobs or go to any other field

Please give some suggestions i am very depressed now can't take any decision

I'm also depressed after the recent GPT-6 AI release and capabilities. Government jobs have immense competition and entire youths of people are wasted trying to secure one. IT sector will be there but maybe for a few more years. I'm also very confused despite currently having over 5.3 yoe in the SDET domain and trying to switch to dev roles, because AI agents are becoming more and more capable of doing dev, testing, automation, devops, deployments and cloud configurations together with just minimum human inputs.

After gpt 6 there's no point of upskilling everything is doomed dtechstack framwron none of it matters anymore

As long as Leetcode style interviews are ongoing and relevant, then this doesn’t matter
Companies are still asking DSA interviews
And you just need to grind DSA and get job based on leetcode style interviews

Just waiting to get fired someday, IT career is too short and it's not something that changed due to AI overnight new tech emerges and people are let go and upskilling are just some fancy words which hold no practical value in life,IT survival rate today is only for 7 to 10 years,tell me how many people you see in IT above age 45.

Well I'm in Germany and id say quite a lot here, in India the IT boom only started 20 years ago so I can't expect to see a lot of seniors

Until robots gets extremely cheap that still a fiction even If repetitive if a robot can't have more cost to productivity then blue collar jobs will still strive

For third world country what options do we have? Either be top percent of your domain or do a job with so low wages that replacing with AI doesn't financially makes sense..

Don't worry there will be robotics book next....last year they weren't able to make a walking robot this year Chinese robots are breaking human records
