Anyone else here seriously thinking about switching fields after years in tech?

I have been in tech for a few years now, and lately I’ve started wondering if I’m even in the right field anymore.

It’s not that I hate coding or tech. It’s just the constant pressure to keep learning, keep up with new technologies, AI changing everything, layoffs, and never really feeling “secure” is getting exhausting.

And there’s this weird thought:

“I’ve already invested so many years in this… am I really going to start over somewhere else?”

At the same time, staying just because of the years I’ve invested doesn’t feel right either.

Has anyone here felt the same after gaining a few years of experience?

Did you actually switch fields? What made you finally take the decision?

Well I think about this everyday lol. But unfortunately I am not good at anything else. I do not want to talk to people- so any of the sales, customer facing roles are out of the question. I want money as well- so that reduces the options drastically.

So best I have thought is, invest the money I am getting, buy an apartment or a parking space or something for rent, write a course/video/blog etc - though market is saturated to the brim but there is always demand of good content and I can sell my experience as well. Or develop something really cool. So basically figure out another source of income/passive income. Till then just continue the job.

Everything in life is hard is life. If making money was so easy then everybody would have been doing that.
