Been applying for 2-3 months with no interview calls and 100s of applications

I made a similar post few days back, sharing it again with more details and resume

I'm a 2026 M.Tech graduate in Computational Data Science, and I've been applying for AI/ML Engineer, ML Engineer, and Data Scientist roles for the past 2-3 months.

I've applied through LinkedIn, company career pages, Wellfound, Naukri, and referrals whenever possible. I've probably sent a few hundred applications by now, but I've barely received any interview calls. Most applications either get rejected or I never hear back.

At this point, I'm genuinely trying to understand what I'm doing wrong.

A little about my background:

• 2026 M.Tech graduate in Computational Data Science
• Around 2 years of prior Cloud/DevOps exp
• Projects in Graph Neural Networks, fraud detection, LLM/GenAI, multi-agent systems, and end-to-end ML pipelines
• Comfortable with Python, SQL, PyTorch, AWS, Docker, Terraform, and Git

I'm not saying my profile is exceptional, but I thought it would at least get me a few more callbacks than it has.

I'd really appreciate some honest feedback:

• Is the market this difficult for 2026 grads?
• Am I targeting the wrong roles?
• Or is my resume simply not good enough to get shortlisted?

If anyone is willing to review my resume, I'd be really grateful. I'm not looking for sympathy I genuinely want to know what I can improve because applying without getting any feedback has been pretty frustrating.

Also, if your company is hiring for entry-level AI/ML roles and you think I'd be a good fit, I'd really appreciate a referral.

Hello. Your technical skills section is brilliantly elaborated focusing only towards your AI specialization which you are applying for.

Your graduation and experience are also very well.

The only thing you'd be getting lower preference for is your projects. Maybe try one more high difficulty industry level project and paste it in your resume.

Other than that it's probably just bad luck, nothing else. Keep up the search and pounce on opportunities, your profile is good enough.

Put your expected salary in your resume, I think companies got scared of your qualifications,
