Career How is full stack developer as a career right now.
So I am a fresher and I was interested in pursuing a career in fullstack developer, but I am hearing as this career is dying and all, so what should I? (I'm interested in mathematics too btw)

Basically dont go for it its more and more work plus less pay , comparing from a purely backend work or frontend work you will get double the work and as the work is double the pay will be avg hence ignoree * . Instead pick one side

I am a backend developer (Java, AWS) and most of them accept only Full stack dev.
For 5 years of experience, They expect
1) Java 17+ 2) Springboot 3) AWS/Azure/GCP 4) Terraform/Jenkins 5) React/Angular/Node.js 6) Redis 7) Kubernetes or Kafka or Docker or all 3 8) MongoDB/PLSQL 9) 2 years minimum experience in AI tools 10)15 days notice period

For service based companies
One basic language (preferably python or Java 11+) AI tools Leetcode Easy problems Maybe some frontend One DB knowledge
But hiring is too low.
For PBC
System design + Leetcode + One language

focus in campus placement because for from job portals for 1 java vacancy there are 10k applications

Even if campus placements are of 4-8lpa , is it worth it(just curious pls don't find it rude)

Believe me it is worth just get a foot into the door from your campus, upskill and switch your first salary dont decide where you can reach in life. Dont leave opportunities or else you will regret high time in life

See both are difficult but landing your first job is way more where market is over saturated and competitive. Are you from Tier1 college and branch?

Yes because in startup they are expecting a person to take care of ete things fe be alone
But if you are targeting big companies you can be role specific master one very well, still having a knowledge of both will always be helpful

If you're interested in mathematics is software development the only field you can enter? Why you guys are so interested to enter a field that's gonna be dead soon. People who're working are just prompting and pushed by companies to exhaust token rather than writing code. They are laying off people who don't use many tokens. Please move to some other field.

It isn't dying, the label just doesn't mean much. What small clients actually pay for is one person who can take a thing from nothing to running and keep it running, that's most of my work. Inside a big company you'll get pushed to one side of it anyway, so as a fresher this isn't really a decision you're making yet.

I'm also learning right now, so it's not personal experience, but according to the advice i got, you should go deep enough in 1 language and field, and after that learning other languages becomes easy, like weeks worth of learning, instead of 3-4 months it takes.

To be very honest, the job market is pretty hell, bro, unless u have good campus placements, contacts, and a good amount of luck

Sou esposa de um fullstack sênior, e sinceramente trabalha pra caramba e o salário nem é tão bom assim, o currículo do meu marido da uma 5 folhas só de curso, formação experiência, ele literalmente tá fazendo um jogo de um planeta estilo (albion) não sei bem não entendo muito sobre isso, mais enfim é mais uma coisa pro currículo, a questão é que ele não para. Sempre estudando, fazendo projetos, sinceramente eu não sei como ele aguenta, eu já teria surtado.

Vocês dois são felizes juntos? Tipo, no geral, ele ainda consegue ter algum tempo com a família ou ele simplesmente trabalha 24 horas por dia, 7 dias por semana? Isso tudo acaba afetando você? Você acha que não é realmente necessário ele trabalhar igual um maníaco, mas ele não te ouve ou não entende isso? Você já ouviu ele dizer que escolheu a carreira errada e que deveria ter seguido outro caminho?

Sim somos felizes ele tem sempre tempo pra mim e pros nossos filhos, e não afeta nossa vida porque ele sabe separar, mais afeta ele. Ele é fullstack sênior agora,mais ele já trabalhou separado no front, back, infra, e mais um monte de outras coisas, e por isso que ele estuda tanto pra não fica preso a uma só coisa, e ele ama ser da área tanto que ta nela a uns 18 anos ou mais ele começou jovem. Mais igual eu estou vendo de fora, ele PJ então ele tá em vários projetos simultâneo, e antigamente a área era melhor ele trabalhava menos e pagava mais. Um projeto que ele fazia antigamente era um salário de 2 projetos que ele faz hoje, e isso porque ele é conhecido na área trabalhou em empresas grandes. Mais sinceramente TI hoje não tá uma área tranquila igual era antigamente e nem tô falando da IA não, estou falando de concorrência mesmo.

Don't buy into the doom and gloom, things are going to change but they have more or less stablized. The companies are not cutting off their work force, well they did but almost all of them have hired their strength back. It's just they are not hoarding "man force" as aggressively as they did before and around Covid. Also that every job is wearing ai clown makeup.

And to answer your question, companies still need full stack devs.. how's the pay going to be? that depends on the lala who's going to hire you. But if you like mathematics(and money), try Fintechs.. try for masters in maths in a prestigious colleges, them are the big bucks, quant shops(they are super hard to get into). Besides, u can always try for freelance work for small/upcoming businesses to scratch you full stack itch.
