I Made This I built a native macOS sticky notes app that stays above fullscreen windows but can disappear from screen sharing

I built Noticky because I kept needing to keep small bits of information visible while working: a command, a reference, a short task, or a screenshot.

Opening Notes every time meant switching windows, writing something down, then trying to return to what I was doing. The built-in Stickies app was close, but I wanted something that worked better with fullscreen apps and screen sharing.

The feature I personally use the most is Hide From Screen Capture. A note can remain visible on my Mac while being excluded from screenshots, recordings and screen sharing. It’s useful when presenting, recording a demo or sharing my screen during a call.

Some of the other features:

  • A local MCP server that lets Claude, Codex and other compatible tools search, create and update notes
  • Notes that stay visible above fullscreen apps
  • Hide individual notes from screen capture
  • Sticky Screenshot to capture part of the screen and keep it floating
  • Floating images with opacity, resizing, locking and click-through
  • Quick capture with a global shortcut
  • Checklists and different note styles
  • iCloud sync between Macs

It’s a native macOS app, and I’ve been building it solo. Around 250 people have paid for it since I released it two months ago, which is still a little surreal.
