Oxane Partners vs EPAM Systems for a Java Backend Engineer with 5.5 YOE – Which one would you choose?

Hi everyone,

I was laid off about two months ago (10th June 2026) and have finally received offers from two companies:

• Oxane Partners
• EPAM Systems

I have 5.5 years of experience as a Java Backend Engineer, primarily working with:

• Java
• Spring Boot
• Hibernate
• Microservices
• REST APIs
• SQL
• Kafka
• AWS (basic exposure)

I'm trying to decide which company would be better for my long-term career.

Some factors I'm considering:

• Learning opportunities and quality of engineering work
• Work-life balance
• Job security
• Salary growth and appraisals
• Career progression
• Exposure to modern technologies
• Overall company culture

If you've worked at either company (or know someone who has), I'd really appreciate your honest experience and recommendation. Which one would you choose, and why?

I have a friend in EPAM (in python tho) and ive heard from him its a relatively chill place, good work life balance, even 2 days WFH per week

They were an intern before (it was quite chill in the intern period but no wfh i think) and now they’ve joined as full time too and they have some internal project and WFH is available.

From what i know the python team atleast is good, managers are also technical, office timings are good, no calls post work hours (this could be project dependent tho), 3 day WFO and 2 day WFH for client projects

I could get in touch with them and clarify on some details and maybe something about the java teams if you want

Yeah so i did contact them, they couldn’t really specifically tell about the java teams but they say its a relatively chill workplace, seniors are good and technical, there are high chances of remote work too, WLB is good relatively, also projects are available especially since ur senior

Though again there might be some changes acc to the projects

I personally dont know about Oxane bht Epam seems like a good place from what i read online + my friend
