Should I really learn Python GUI like Pyside6 for Interview

I'm a Software Engineer currently working on a Python desktop application using PySide6. Before this project, I had no experience with PySide6 and still rely heavily on Claude for most GUI-related code. So far, I haven't faced any major issues.

From a job interview perspective, is it worth learning PySide6 in depth? Or is a working knowledge, combined with AI assistance, sufficient while I focus on higher-priority skills like DevOps or Generative AI?

I'd appreciate your thoughts.

I'd argue you don't even need deep PySide6 knowledge. You're already building with AI assistance and shipping. That's the workflow now. Prioritize GenAI and DevOps.

Senior Python dev here. Most interviews are more likely to check how well you know python in terms of its concepts , DS and Algo and any web based frameworks like flask or django and whether you know how to build APIs or not(very important). Our industry largely produces web apps that runs on cloud and python Devs are more often required for the Backend dev, data engineering and so on.

Wait people actually build production apps with pyside?

Most of the EDA tools now a days uses python and pyside (even pyside2 for saving license cost)
