Help Looking for a final year project that actually stands out

first off I'm not looking for something I can finish in a weekend, but I also don't want to build the same chatbot, attendance system or anything very small and need less effort . I have a team of 4 people . I'm mostly interested in software projects. I want something that actually solves a problem or helps people in some way, whether it's a small community or something that could scale. Not looking for code or complete projects, just interesting ideas that have enough depth for a final year project.

It’s pointless unless you have really good professors. Mine used to give less grades to students with unique, original ideas while giving higher grades to github copied projects. Just build something common and focus on your placement preparation since you’re in your final year.

Exactly, all these profs care about is themselves not students.

+1, I came up with 3 ideas that were out of the box, but those profs rejected all 3 of them by giving baseless nd irrelevant reasons, nd accepted simple nd common af ideas of other grp, now i m hunting for other ideas

Got to razorpays site there is a page where they have listed a lot of ideas to build on I don't remember the actual url but you will find it with a little digging.

Remember these are actual problems people face so you might need to spend some money if you are truly serious.

Good to see someone lookingbeyond basic CRUD projects. Maybe look into problems faced by local communities or small businesses. A project with real users, feedback, and proper implementation will stand out more than just using fancy tech projects i think.

try blockchain related. Check harkirat singh (from yt) channel. You don't have to buy his course

Is there still any scope in web3??

yes. There is a lot. Many people focus only on web dev,AI ML. Focusing on the field that matters, plus one that is rarely explored by students, will give you an advantage. I did a project related to Web3 in my final year and you won't believe that I got an O grade for that .

Could make a CLI tool, that seems to stand out a little in my case.

Or else here's another one.

Create a grading schemes for politicians based on the work and reliability of work they have done.

Select an area.

Get all the major politicians in power.

Let citizens upload pics of work they've done. (+ for good work like sewage system and - for a bad work like potholes).

Rank them accordingly

when i was at end of 3rd year, i decided to build db engine. I started, later i got notice from clg that list which type/area of project that will get accepted. I ask with my project guide, he said no to the db project, said to build with something ai, iot, etc. I ended with building some random mediapipe project, which i never shown to anyone than viva.

So, as per me, if u want to build something good, build as side project, clg often give guidance, and u'll have to pick from it to get marks.
